Title: Does anyone else like early morning hours when it's still dark outside?
Post by: nuclear on September 23, 2022, 09:09:24 AM
I don't know about everyone else, but I kind of like waking up at 5 or 6 when it is still dark outside (sun doesn't rise until 6:30 where I live).

It's hard to explain, but the darkness of the early morning hours is really peaceful and nice (and without the eeriness of the late night hours).

I know it's kind of weird; it's probably because I'm autistic (high-functioning), so I prefer more dimly lit locations than super bright ones.

I have always been a morning person.  I still get up around 5am, walk the dogs, make coffee, feed the dogs and then enjoy the dark, peaceful morning by myself and my computer.  (with the dogs too, of course)  I would love it if the morning could last 8 hrs or so--it doesn't work that way, tho.  :))  If that is weird, then I'm weird too.  Which I pretty much am, but I enjoy the company of me, myself and I so much that I don't give a fuck about being weird or odd.  Once one accepts their weirdness it is no longer something to worry about.  One of my little mottos:  I'd rather be healthy than normal.

What is that??  I get up with the sun (or dawn) and go down with the sun.  I've not seen that creature before!

The period where it's bright but everything is shades of blue rather than pure, direct sunlight.

That and when the sun is going down and the clouds look like Monet's.

♫Early in the morning,
Very, very early
without warning...♫

I'd give a nut (well, maybe a prostrate gland) to get a full night's sleep and wake up refreshed in the morning when the sun comes up. My latest discussion with a urologist was to be advised to only drink 2 liters of water a day. Shit, I have that much coffee in a given day.

Hell, I'd give both nuts (the main tube has been snipped for over 40 yrs, so don't need them anyway) for a solid nights sleep!!  I guess age and vit. B12 anemia gives one a choppy night.

I got the coffee habit when I joined the Navy. Sailors live on coffee, bad food and fear/panic.

You must have been in a different Navy than I. I had maybe 5 cups of coffee, good food and a bore-ass enlistment. I didn't really start with coffee until my second year of uni.

I slept in 72 countries and shot people for fun and profit. Best twenty years of my life.

Little River Band--hadn't thought of them is years.  Ironically, I used to list to that band and cut as I was going to sleep shortly after dusk.  Why?  I was trying to figure out what they were talking about--WTF was a night owl??!!

My favorite parts of the day are the Blue Hour (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_hour) and 11pm (I used to be on second shift)
