Title: SCOTUS knocks down a little more of the Wall of Separation
Post by: Luther Martini on June 27, 2022, 03:37:42 PM

But, as we move ever closer toward becoming a christian theocracy, this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that SCOTUS would rule in favor of the high school football coach who was fired for refusing to stop leading the players in prayer on the 50 yard line after games.

Supreme Court further erodes separation between church and state in case of praying football coach (https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/27/politics/football-coach-prayer-high-school-supreme-court-kennedy/index.html)

The court ruled that the coach's prayers, held on the 50 yard line with his players, were protected because they were private, and therefore free speech that could not be restricted by the school district.  Yeah, uh-huh ... private, my ass ... reportedly, he "insisted on audible prayers at the 50-yard line with students ... (and) announced in the press that those prayers are how he helps these kids be better people."

And on the 7th day, god woke up really early, and quickly created the USA and football
.

What wall???  I usually think of Ike as the last good repub president.  But even he had issues.  He started a crack in the wall with the 'In God We Trust' on money.  It is now no longer a wall but a rubble of bricks.

Ike ... yes, he was certainly better than any of the republican presidents who followed him. I was only six when he ran for his second term, but I remember the "I like Ike" campaign buttons.  It was also during his administration that "under god" was added to the pledge of allegiance.

Yeah, rubble of bricks is probably a better way to describe the wall's current condition, but these assholes today are getting ready to doze the rubble out of the way and pave the space over like it was never there at all.

Lauren Boebert Declares Seperation of Chuch and State Not In Constitution (https://twitter.com/patriottakes/status/1541508454740885511)

Quote"I'm tired of this separation of church and state junk."

Lauren Boebert went full theocracy, and proclaimed, "The church is supposed to direct the government" per the founding fathers.

I've heard a customer say that as well to one of my female coworkers when he brought up his favor of the SCOTUS ruling (you know, like a normal person does when they are talking to a stranger)...

Things are progressing a little too quick for my liking, and this photo is becoming a little to accurate to be comfortable.

And one last one for the road...

"Catholic Taliban rule": "We're having something like Taliban rule in America, in a good way!" (https://twitter.com/RightWingWatch/status/1541451617874153472)

Ahhhh yes.  As she and some of her constituents hold a celebration of their collective ignorance, Boebert comes through for us once again.

About 20 years ago, I overheard a couple of my co-workers discussing an issue of church state separation, and one challenged the other to find the words "separation of church and state" in the Constitution.  Instead of taking the bait by attempting to interpret the First Amendment Establishment Clause for the young jackass, my older and wiser colleague simply replied, "I'll be glad to do that, as soon as you show me where the word god appears in the Constitution.  Our younger colleague sat at his desk for about an hour, carefully reading the Constitution.  Obviously frustrated, he finally proclaimed in a huff, "Ok, its not in there, but that makes sense, 'cause it's pretty obvious that god wrote this whole thing".

That's further support for the sage advice to never play chess with a pigeon .. he just knocks over the pieces, shits on the board, and struts around like he won.

Catholic Taliban rule ... wow, a rebirth (one that clearly SHOULD be aborted) of that good ole Papal Inquisition.  Hey!!! NEW GROWTH INDUSTRY in the USA ... Racks and thumbscrews ... yeppers, order yours now to get a leg up on the holiday rush.  Just don't lift that leg up too high, 'cause there might be a sodomite hiding behind a tree close to you (maybe even a communist sodomite), and we all know that sodomy is against the laws of the almighty unless performed by the clergy.
