Title: Spyware?
Post by: Baruch on April 08, 2020, 05:22:18 PM
Zoom is a new popular video-conferencing software ...

"Zoom is installing mini-web servers on your computer" ... and they don't stop running if you uninstall Zoom.

This is no different than having an Alexa in your home.  You are basically extending the "spy net" to your personal space.

If rape is inevitable, look for taking pleasure... Turkish proverb

We no longer can be free from technology. They have made the use of technology inevitable, IF you are not living under a rock.

Centipedes of the world unite!  I used to look for centipedes under rocks, in San Diego County California.  They grow big there!

AGI is far off, at least 10 more years, probably much longer.

But AI salesmen say it is already here ... in 1985, 1995, 2005, 2015 ... and no doubt in 2025.  If you can keep redefining it ...

The problem is that people keep redefining intelligence into a neat little box that keeps getting smaller, to hide human specialness. BTW, human intelligence isn't general, it's actually very specific in how our brains work - we just don't know all the underlying mechanisms by which those work. All in all, we have an incomplete picture of intelligence, some vital pieces are missing for making AGI, and I suspect they'll be missing for quite some time.
