Title: Lent
Post by: SGOS on March 02, 2020, 08:15:19 AM
I don't suppose anyone took much notice that Ash Wednesday was last week.  I remember all my Catholic friends in school waking around with a spot of dirt on their forehead on that day.  Some people made a big deal about giving something up during Lent, although I don't think it was a big deal in my family.  I don't remember anyone giving anything up.

Jimmy Kimmel's sidekick, Guillermo, said he was going to give up smoking weed for Lent - but I bet he didn't!  LOL

Lent just means I need to hurry if I still want a King Cake for Mardi Gras.

Remember, if you participate in Lent, the debtor owes you 5% interest ;-)

Actually, Lent is part of the borrowing from India.  In Buddhism/Hinduism, you have cremation ground meditation.  So technically the ashes should be cremains.  It is to remind you that your time is nearly up!

Lent is the sacrifice of saints.  The more sacrificing of saints, the happier I am.
