Greetings! My name is Alisa, I'm 25 years old and I'm a trans woman. I was born into a Muslim household. I deconverted one year ago due to my way of life conflicted with Islam because I felt and saw myself as a person of the opposite sex, a feeling that I was in the wrong body.
Unfortunately, because of my faith, I'd to reject myself and my feelings. My parents sent me to an Islamic madrasa to study Islam and I completed my studies in six years. Nevertheless, within myself, I despised Islam because I was convinced that it was a primitive religion with all kind of ridiculous fairy tales and myths. Muhammad flew to heaven on a horse? :cheesy: So, I renounced Islam a year ago and also began my MtF transition. I got disowned by my family and I decided to move to Sweden, far, far away from my family... Happy now! :winkle:
Regards
Alisa
Welcome. You are not our first transwoman. Jannabear, who doesn't post much, is a pre-adult transwoman. Some people here are gay, or other variants.
Hope you find us supportive.
Greetings Alisa, how very brave of you. I cannot even imagine the difficulties you have endured and yet still must and also the heart ache of the loss of family. From what I have seen over the last 20 years, I am sure you understand that you can never go home, or even let a relative near you as so many despite what they say, feel they must kill you. This is beyond our understanding in our culture, although I do know that years ago some gays were killed by their father, and perhaps even know but we rarely hear about it.
Welcome, I look forward to a new voice from the islamic past.

Thank you aitm for your kind words! :-)
Welcome to the forum, Alisa.
I wonder if Sweden is a safe country for you.
Perhaps, as long as you keep away from the "New Swedes".
BTW, if that is you in your avatar, I would change it quickly to something else.
Be safe.
Hi & welcome to AF
Hi and welcome. I hope you are not just another "temporary angry atheist " looking for a different deity to follow.
Greetings. It's nice to have another ex-Muslim. Most of us here are more familiar with the Christian variety of fairy tales, and only vaguely familiar with Islam. What's it like in Sweden? I'm considering evacuating the USA and its Trumpets. lol
@ Blackleaf
Sweden is lovely. Full of excitement, vibrant culture, I think you will like it there.

I am acquainted with a Vietnam War vet, who escaped to Sweden in the 70s ... it was lovely for 40 years ... as a feminist socialist utopia. But all good things come to an end ;-(
Welcome to our little band of heathens!
