Title: Dogs plus Philosophy
Post by: Baruch on June 26, 2017, 06:29:53 PM
Dogs and the philosophers who care for them ... and one cat.  My cat is also black, but that one isn't mine.

The attraction to dogs is rather simple. They give us/fulfill that which we either cannot/willnot/do not get from other humans.

I don't have time to read all that, but the pictures are great! I love dogs and cats - not necessarily in that order.

Using domesticated animals as representations of human relationships can be quite enlightening.  But I tend toward cats myself.  And this is in general jest...

1.  My cats don't make me "walk" them in the rain or at night or in the cold.
2.  Cats don't need 24/7 attention.
3.  Cat toys last longer than dog toys.
4.  Cats wash themselves.
5.  Cats bring you fresh dead things (and they are small).  Dogs bring you smelly long-dead large things.
6.  Cats don't take up 2/3 of the bed or sofa or all of a chair.
7.  Cats don't smash into trees trying to catch a frisbee.
8.  Cats are more agile.  Have you ever seen a dog on top of a bookcase?

MOL!

And our cat would lie on my old, foot and a half long computer monitor and watch me play games.  I do miss that.
