Title: Islam and Art
Post by: pr126 on February 05, 2017, 02:12:22 AM
Recently this happened in Paris.

Louvre Attack  (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4187460/Lovre-evacuated-Paris.html)

What has Islam against art?

Here is a video explaining what is forbidden or permitted according to Islamic sharia law.

My theory about Islam (Muhammad) forbidding all kind of music.

Islam was created by Muhammad as a military creed for war, conquest, plunder and enslavement.

We all know how music can change mood, and mental state.

Those who engage in war must not have their concentration diminist by music, but focus on the job at hand.

Similarly, alcohol is also forbidden.

In some of the raids that Muhammad led, his group of marauders were too drunk to be effective, and a fight broke out between them for the division of plunder.

Muhammad henceforth forbade alcohol (wine) which was freely consumed by the Arabs, including Muhammad.

Yes, desert people are typically very puritan.  So don't invite them to your non-desert country.

The Louvre attacker wielded a machete (not explosives or guns), was quickly shot by law enforcement, and nobody (but the culprit) was hurt.

It's not even clear that he was a terrorist; he may well have been some lone nutter.

Again, the key to dealing with this problem is law enforcement, not blanket bans.

Yes, enforce, don't have a court cock block, the law.  And the law needs to say ... if you aren't for us, you are against us ... and if you are against us .. no visa!

Reactive or proactive? Which is better?

Both.

But without violating the rights and freedoms of a wide swathe of the population, the overwhelming majority of whom are good, harmless people.

Imagine if they said "Almost all terrorists are men, so let's restrict the rights of all men."

Have you got a foolproof method to tell them apart?
Do you think is it worth risking lives so you can virtue signal?

Climbing to the moral high ground over dead bodies?
Where are your morals?

Alternatively; "I'm a pussy afraid of everyone and everything, and a special snowflake, so let us act like the people we hate and restrict the freedoms of people who keep us up at night because they might be a bad ya zalama."

I am pro legal immigration.  Anti-open borders.  I am pro human, and view Muslims as human beings.  And I don't take all Muslims for terrorists ... though some are.  The biggest terrorist since 1945 has been the USA, and not because the USA is Muslim.  There is a reason why non-Europeans consider Western civilization as barbaric.  Partly prejudice, partly truth.
