GOP congress-critters have been shitty for a long time. They could have balanced the budget, but did not. They can't even pass a budget. I don't think they feared an Obama veto. They didn't because if they did, the voters would know who to kick out. The whole deal with GOP is ... plausible deniability ... that is why they had to block any Obama initiative (sarc). And still, even with the cooperation of Obama, the Cat Food Committee to end Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid ... failed. The CFC gave them cover, and they still failed (in 2011-2012). Obama was facing re-election in 2012, and didn't want to be crucified on the voter cross, to pay for GOP sins.
Jeff Sessions ... pretty much a POS. So hopefully the GOP won't accept his nomination (sarc). It seems like we can't have a fair and honest Atty. Gen. ;-(

My point was not to say that there are just as many who oppose politicians for being white as there are who oppose politicians for being black. Yes, racism and sexism is real, but some Democrats still make up a lot of bullshit to try to generalise those who disagree with them as racists or bigots. It was stupid for someone running for President to say that Russia should release emails (not hack them like the media and government were falsely claiming), but that's certainly not a good enough reason to say that he's a Russian agent or puppet of Putin's, and Trump did take that back almost immediately and tweeted that Russia or whoever has them should share them with the FBI rather than release them.
