So it's the longest drought facing off against the second longest drought.
I predict it'll get to 3-3 and then the killer asteroid will hit at the first pitch of Game 7.
Prediction: One team is going to end a long losing streak...

I have a preference for which one I want to see ended... but I'm not going to make any predictions. :)
I'm voting for a third party.
Actually, I grew up in Chicago, so duh?? The Cubs.
Not a cubs fan, and it's an impressive record, so let em lose.
Baseball is the most boring thing on the planet for me, and I am someone that has a career in literally watching paint dry.... so.......

Baseball isn't the most exciting sport for me either, but on occasion, I am taken with the bug (not particularly this time around), but I'll root for the Cubs. In high school, I thought baseball was right up there with golf as the two most boring sports to watch, but the Chicago White Sox went to the World Series, and I decided to watch the first game, and got the fever. I watched all the rest of the games too, and watched the Sox eventually lose, but it was great fun everyday after school to beat it home and watch the game with excited anticipation. And then it got boring again. I guess that's baseball's default state. Once, I went to a double header at Wriggly Field (one of the two times I went to a pro game), and watched the Cubs win both games. It was great fun. There's a lot of fun stuff that goes on in addition to the game at the Stadium. I was with a friend and his father. We even brought our own hot dogs, along with a bunch of other food that more or less filled a paper shopping bag. I enjoyed the experience immensely.

I understand the Cubs are favored, not that Cleveland isn't a formidable team. So I've heard.

Have you never watched soccer or Women's tennis?

Wait, they are playing Cleveland?
Oh hell na, LETS GO CUBS!!!
Actually, I want Cleveland to win. The Cubs Curse should last forever just for the history of it. I don't hate Chicago, but history means something!

Women's tennis is one of my favorite things on earth, but I'm also a bit of a perv
Sent from your mom.
Mom died in 2010 FYI. And when she was sane, she thought women's tennis was boring in the Steffie Graf "GRUNT" years. We both thought it great in BJK and Navritilova years.
I listened to the game tonight on ESPN Radio (streaming). I knew it would be a mistake, because when I do that, I end up jinxing the critical alignment of the karma and the vibrations lose their harmonic energy and my Cub's mojo gets all weird.
So who won? I am refusing to guess from your post. ;)
I don't want to talk about it.
Who lost? I don't even bother to check?
Something is really fishy. The Cubs going to the world series and the Reds were in dead last place. THAT'S UNAMERICAN!

Well, now I'm getting worried. I've watched two of the three games. The one I didn't watch, the Cubs won. And I can't watch tonight's game because we're going out to see Fritz the Nite Owl (local late night movie host from *way* back) host live, for the first time, the Rocky Horror Picture Show. If the Cubs win tonight, you're going to have to crowbar me away from the TV the next two nights, just to make sure my Tribe wins. :)
If the Cubs don't win, I will expose the World Series as a fraud, and refuse to accept the results.

Oddly enough, I did get to see some of the game last night before the movie started, while enjoying a beer in the pub. And the Indians won. Well. I know that correlation is not causation, but I am definitely watching tonight. :D

Was it the beer, pub or you drinking the beer that caused it? They probably would have lost if you hadn't been staring at the waitress's ass the whole time..

I don't want to be cruel to Cubs fans, but the Curse is part of baseball history and I don't want it to end. Go Cleveland!
So I woke up and turned to Google's equivalent of a sports page, and the only article on the game was called, The Moment the World Series Got Interesting. So I guess the Cubs must have won. I scanned the article much too quickly to know if they did or what the score might have been. Mostly, it was a long scrolling piece about how interesting baseball is with references to past baseball achievements and exciting moments. But all I wanted was the fucking score. And I'm still not sure if the Cubs actually won, or if they even demonstrated they deserve to win the series.
Scores don't matter, only games do.

That is one thing I can be essentially guaranteed of *not* staring at.
Now, had there been a waiter's ass, that might have been another matter entirely...

I'm perfectly happy to see the Cubs break their curse.
Just not at the expense of Cleveland. Let 'em humiliate the Yankees, they deserve it more.
Okay, I'm keeping an eye out for that asteroid now.
7 games! I'm a nervous wreck.

Hey--watch your filthy mouth!!! The Yankees have been humiliating themselves, lately. Actually, I wish I could hear more anti-Yankee stuff. The more the merrier. That simply means they would be winning--but they aren't doing that so much any more. :(

Oh, I'm perfectly happy to deliver plenty of anti-Evil Empire rants. Even when they're losing. :D

Well, keep it up--reminds this Yankee fan of the good old days. :)
Aw crap, another historical part of baseball blown all to hell! Cubs win. I have nothing against them, but I wish they hadn't.
Back To The Future got it wrong by one year.
I bet Trump arranged it...
Yay Cubs. But I have to concede that winning is not as good as losing is bad. Cleveland had a good team. They should be proud.

One historically losing team HAD to win. I didn't watch a minute of the final game, but I bet they got records numbers of watchers. I only waited to see the outcome on my news feed.

Micheal J. Fox must have gone back to the future, and changed it again.
Glad to see them win. I'll just be glad when the sports conversation returns to football. Baseball bores the hell out of me.

I used baseball game time to visit my cat-blog friends. If anything happened in the game, there would be a replay. Football stays kind of active and you don't always get a replay.
Can't say the Cubs didn't earn it. That was a hell of a game.
All the same, &^$%#*% Chicago. ;)
Thanks, Obama!
Oh, the Cubs. So much for history...
Supposedly some of the seats were going upward of $50,000. Good times.

When the Cubs were down by three games, scalpers were lowering the price of tickets for games 6 an 7, down to $2600. Those that hung on to them must have been happy.

Streaks should stay. Maybe. Do you know what current MLB city team has the longest non World Series win? Bet ya don't.

Had you not asked, I would have guessed the Cubs, but now I'm guessing it's someone else. OK tell me, and I may not have ever heard of them. Oh wait, I'll take a guess... Oakland.

The Indians. So, by losing to the longest streak with no WS, they became the team with the longest non WS streak. Now the nation can feel sorry for them.
