Title: Introducing myself
Post by: Jannabear on January 09, 2016, 07:39:55 PM
I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, I didn't see any designated for this topic, if there is please feel free to move it to that forum, thanks.
My name is Janna, I'm an atheist, my hobbies are gaming, debating, and activism.
I'm a liberal, and a socialist.
I'm transgender and pansexual.
And I'm welling to consider any argument, regardless of how stupid or intelligent, controversial, or widely accepted.
I'm egalitarian.
I live in the us.
I joined these forums to have a place to have a discussion, to come closer to the truth, even if I have to mow through a few morons, after all, it is the internet.
I also joined because I live in a primarily christian area, and it's honestly depressing to not have anyone here I really have any respect for intellectually, and to have no one I can really relate with.
I'm excited to talk to everyone.

Welcome.  There are people, individually, who can more or less share each of your interests.  Though you may be the only one to have the unique combination that is you.  It is hard for folks to use the ShoutBox (chat) because we cover many time zones.  But if you need intense conversation, to support your more distressing times, I hope someone will volunteer for that.  And as you say ... this is the Internet.  A bit like the lower levels in Bladerunner ...

But I will neither confirm nor deny which members are replicants ;-)

Didn't see this post until now, so please forgive the belated welcome.

We're generally an opinionated bunch (myself included), and sometimes quicker to respond with an insult than an intelligent response (I'm working really hard on that one right now), but generally a good bunch of people.  Even the assholes here are great.  When they berate you, they do it with love!

I'm sure you'll have a great time here.  I know it has opened my mind quite a bit to thoughts I may never have had on my own.  It's a great place to pick up on new ideas and flesh out old ideas as well as just chat.  Welcome and may your stay be long and rewarding.
