I am sort of a new atheist, was indoctrinated and raised as a christian but slowly over time became atheist especially after finding out a experience i have had throughout my life to be a common thing people get in life. I will explain my story further once i have more access to the site, but, i am really glad to be ridden of religion, and now i am kind of anti-theist because i feel i was tricked into believing a fairytale which i truly thought to be true. After watching plenty of episodes of The Atheist Experience on youtube which has greatly helped me and i now watch every week.
Glad i found this website where i can share my experiences and thought's and maybe debate with theist's to try and help them into reality. I don't hate christian's, but i seriously hate their religion for the mental, emotional, and physical harm it causes.
I have alway's loved science though, mainly astronomy and it truly amazes me how anybody can not be. So many people truly take pride in their ignorance because they think everything is a lie and untrustworthy, yet majority of those people believe in a god...... Personally i think theist's are very dishonest with themself to say because they don't have the answer, they feel they have a right to invent a god to make the world make sense to them. I also was dishonest when i was younger because i never thought to question what i believed, i never really understood how everything could come to be without some kind of a designer, so out of that ignorance, god was a suitable answer for me. I am so much happier now as a atheist than when i was a theist, because i think if you ever had a hard time in life and their is a god, it must truly mean you deserve it even when you didn't do anything wrong! Them african's in africa must deserve to starve, and live on rice with flies buzzing around them.
Theist's would say i am the way i am cause i hate god, i don't hate god, i hate the LIE! The poison which is religion need's purged, and i am so proud of the people taking the stand in fighting it and hope they keep fighting.
Welcome to the team. Enjoy the show, the world's more fascinating when you understand how it works.
It's always the ones who love science that turn to the dark side, isn't it?
Welcome.

Try not to be too angry. I was angry for years after leaving my church and it did no good for me or them. And keep in mind, yes, you were tricked into believing a fairy tale, but you were tricked by people who were tricked into believing a fairy tale. They didn't purposely set out to trick you, they set out to save your soul, which at least most of them likely believe is a very real thing. Nobody intended you any harm. Just the opposite. Your best interests really were their primary concern in most cases. They wanted to share something with you that they truly believed was special. Never forget that they were tricked into believing it to and because they believed it is why they tricked you into believing it.
The important thing is it's over now, you realize your mistake and you are far less likely to make it again. Don't hold a grudge against religious people for doing no more than what they thought was helping you. It's not healthy and it will never make you happy.

Hi and welcome.
I echo widdershins' remarks above. Words of wisdom if I ever saw them.

I do see your point, as i said, i don't hate christian's, i hate their religion and the lie they try to uphold to all.
Welcome. Enjoy the show.
welcome, and at the very least, an atheist should at least once, piss on a bible and leave it in the drawer at a motel.....ah.....good fun.
The proper way is to open it and piss between the pages.
