Turkey is just trying to implement that no-fly-zone the Republicans are convinced will somehow help defeat ISIS

Republicans? Both parties are on board with an American invasion and no fly zone. Since both parties are on board, this is happening. It's guaranteed now. Even Bernie will probably do this if he gets in.

Technically they are, since there is evidence that Turkey is letting ISIS oil go through their borders... which generates millions for terrorists.

Of course, al-Asad could be considered a terrorist just as easily, who Russia backs so... really, all sides are backing a terrorist group... it just depends which faction your asking as to which faction is or isn't a terrorist group. The only one I think is nearly universally accepted as terrorists are ISIS and if Turkey is infact aiding them in ways... that shit needs to stop.

Of course, I come from a country that trained terrorist groups, lets drug lord's from Latin America launder money, etc. etc. so politically I cannot judge them "too" harshly.

The Internets say, the son of the leader of Turkey, was the one profiting from the ISIS oil transiting his country.  Unfortunately this looks more and more like Columbia and Peru in recent decades.  Ecuador and Venezuela, on average, have been more stable because they are Left.  But the CIA has been at work there too ... and more recently destabilizing Brazil and Argentina.  Chile in the 70s was the blueprint, thank you Dr Kissinger (aka Dr Evil).  American foreign policy was based on Dr Kissinger's pro-German pro-Israeli view, and Brzezinski's pro-Polish view.

Rebels in Syria used a SA supplied US supplied TOW missile to take out a Russian helicopter also.  The Russian helicopter had strayed into Syrian airspace ;-(  The Russian navy is gathering off E Syria .. and the US and French fleets are steaming there to join them.  This could get real ugly real fast.  The mostly likely outcome is the deploying of smart naval mines and underwater drones.  That and electricity was cut off from Crimea just this past week also.  Crimea is on emergency power only ... unless Russia directly occupies all of the Ukraine E of Kiev.  The switchblade at the throat of Russia is the Baltics ... way too close to St Petersburg!  Russia will be tempted to preventively invade them to gain some fighting space farther away from St Petersburg and closer to Warsaw.  Putin would also need to neutralize Finland and Sweden.  Russia directly invading Turkey is also a likely outcome, from multiple directions.  They have only been fighting for 500 years now!  Iranian ground troops are in Syria, fighting into rebel held territory after Russian bombardment.

copypasta from /pol/ mainly sourced out of RT news, so basically russian side of the story (http://8ch.net/pol/res/4044862.html#4047503):

QuoteA Russian Su-24 bomber fighter jet shot down 4 km from Turkish border in Syria by Turkish F-16 air-to-air missile

Two Russian pilots have been shot by Al-Nusra Front's ground infantry (while still in air) after ejecting via parachute, video of it below

(The sortie was 2 planes, one went south back to Latakia airbase, the other was shot down)

(Both completed their bombing missions and were beginning to return to Latakia airbase)

Two Turkish F-16's had trailed one Su-24.

Putin's Response

“This incident stands out against the usual fight against terrorism. Our troops are fighting heroically against terrorists, risking their lives. But the loss we suffered today came from a stab in the back delivered by accomplices [Turkey] of the terrorists,” Putin said.

From another anon, "NATO MEETING HERE":

http://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/events_67375.htm

â€"The NATO meeting is over, nothing much was really said, just that its mainly Turkey and Russia engaging in communications currently, and NATO is somewhat not interfeering.

They side with Turkey in saying that they have confirming data indicating that Turkey's evidence is credential that the Su-24 entered Turkey's border (although briefly).

Obama/Hollande (they met together today) has said that its Turkey and Russia's issue, they didn't have much info, so he's also kind of staying away from it.

"They are going after moderate opposition near the Turkish border" This is confirmed what Obama has said.

ALSO TODAY BREAKING

Rescue Helicopter (Russian made) later BLOWN UP by TOW missile by FSA army, video below

From what I hear on comments, there were 2 helicopters and the one blown up was abandoned, noting the engine had been off for a few minutes. The other helicopter can carry 6 or 11 more crewmembers.

I'm guessing its a TOW missile (obviously, the video there shows it). Apparently its either German or American made, noting the german war symbol.

The missile traveled for 2 km, so it was likely a TOW anti tank missile.

RT has been interviewing analysts today saying that Turkey has been the hub for years to get to Syria/Iraq. "Al Nusra is the same as ISIS, they cross into Turkey daily to regroup, join other forces, and re-attack". "There is a black market for oil, there are reports of pipelines being used from ISIS held areas and pumped into Turkey for low prices".

The fact of the matter is Turkey allows these jihadists to enter into Turkey, with an analyst saying  "Turkey's main agenda is to topple Assad, and with that ISIS can help their cause."

Used to be that Turkish territory extended on the European side past Budapest on the West ... included most of the Ukraine and all of the Crimea ... along with present day Georgia on the E end of the Black Sea.  Admiral John Paul Jones sought and got mercenary work with the Russians, under Catherine the Great ... and was partly responsible for the eventual transfer of the Crimea to Russia.    The Russian Orthodox Church has declared holy war against the opponents of Putin.  When John Paul Jones worked for the US, he fought harder than the others and to some success ... but was stymied by the Boston cabal and later by the early US not wanting a navy.  Russia was willing to bid for his talents.  Eventually he ended up in Paris and died there.  Much later his body was moved to the US Naval Academy at Annapolis.  Some zones of conflict never change.

It didn't help the Russians that not only they penetrated briefly Turkey's borders, but also were targeting Syrian factions aligned with Turkey. It would help if these two countries could get together in deciding who shoots what.
