ISIS claims a lot of things. Also, I'm sure they'd love to be seen as a substantive threat to Russia, given the recent Russian airstrikes.
However, the experts say that it was most likely a technical problem, so that's what I'm going with unless new information points towards an attack.
On the other hand, there could have been a bomb on board ... rather than a manpad being used at that high an altitude.
In any case, like the passenger plane destroyed over Ukraine, we will probably never know.

So who did it? Ideology can choose a side, but it doesn't decide the truth. Not that truth matters, peace and war are decided by falsehood, not by truth ... which is to say, by public opinion and elite machination.
