Title: The National Association for the Preservation of Skin Art
Post by: cburns92 on October 27, 2015, 09:28:13 AM
Hiya everyone!
My name is Colin, I'm from Ohio, and I got my first tattoo when I was 16. Now I work for the National Association for the Preservation of Skin Art (NAPSA) at SaveMyInk.com, we are the folks who allow you to arrange for a tattoo to be removed and preserved when you die. I work within the community section on the website myself, but I can answer some questions if you're curious about what we do.

Please keep an open mind!

First and last question: Why?  Got my first tattoo at 15 and I'm 56 now.  So your goals are to save blurry blue blobs of skin?

My tattoo is mine. :) There's a lot you can't take with you, but I'm taking that.

Does this mean in the future we are going to have people grave robbing to steal tattoos? PS- I don't have any.

You might be able to double your business if you were to collect foreskins as well….

Sorry to hear they got blurry, the process we use to preserve them removes a few layers from above the tattoo which makes the color brighter and the blacks darker, and the skin collapses so the ink is much more dense. They end up looking rejuvenated. The idea is that you arrange for a tattoo to be preserved for a loved one to keep, the preserved tattoo acts as a symbol for your life and memory. Think of it like an urn holding ashes.

Lol not even if there were diamonds in the ink, no I don't think we'll see that. This is all planned in advance of death, the individual becomes a member with us so that when they pass, we will work with their family to complete the preservation. Maybe you have a tattoo that means a lot to someone you know, leave it to them.

If anything it be more like Intersteller, remember how he goes into that dimension and can see into his home through the bookshelf, maybe it would be like that.

I never got any tattoos because we had one 1st class cook I worked for called Sarge who had several hearts on his left arm. All were crossed out but the bottom one that said "Sally". Last patrol we were together that one was crossed out. That plus the fact that I have never actually seen a tattoo that I wanted.

Hmm so those were his ex's? Thats rough! Idk tattoos aren't for everyone but the newer machines and inks can produce some really amazing works and styles, the kind of things that can be done now are really impressive.

Maybe check out some work, we can't tattoo you through the internet! I promise! lol cheers
