QuoteAt an Istanbul press conference yesterday (October 21, 2015), two MPs from Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Eren Erdem and Ali Seker, claimed that the August 2013 chemical attack on the Damascus suburb of Ghouta, in which hundreds of civilians were killed, was carried out not by the Assad regime but by ISIS, and that the gas used in the attack had been manufactured in Turkey and supplied to this organization with the knowledge of the AKP government. They stated further that the government instructed a Turkish prosecutor to close the file in a probe into this affair, and accused the government of involvement in crimes against humanity.
Disgusting, but not surprising. They passed traditional weapons from the broder why not something like this.
There is a tanscription of recorded tapes going around about this. (The gas is refered as mineral water) It's also said that as the sarin gas wasn't produced as the way it supposed to be -produced under the counter- it didn't cause the planned body count because of the low 'quality'. Fortunately.
The report also contains the names of the people who brought the material with what connections.
Elections are on the 1st of November. And half of the country will look at this as a conspiracy made up against the AKP regime. (To you the 'republican part) Assuming the news will reach them of course.
I don't think that Turkey would do this for ISIS, without the US and Saudi Arabia knowing. Obama hypocrisy knows no bounds ;-((

Well, details in news release names of people who were given Turkish and Syrian passports to pass the material and cook the murderous gas, however do not underestimate the religious party in power. See, something important people miss looking from outside. They cannot afford to lose the power and it won't be some regular losing for a political party if they lose it. A lot of people will be trialed. Majority will run away. I doubt they will lose it soon. Shit will hit the fan soon, on the election day -I'm even expecting body count- AND continue spreading after the elections.
These people are trying to take the revenge of secularisation and westernisation over 90 years. They want American system with full republican cover, whole nine yards... in your terms. Very bad days are coming.
I have no idea what the US benefits from this other than the usual 'there must be an islamic government in the land, so we could use it', but if they are not stupid, they should have realised long ago that their business partners are not reliable a tiny little bit. Erdogan is not a religious leader. He is a politician and every islamic leader in the region he is supposed to be used against when it is covenient is aware of this. He wants to create an Empire and play the little America in the region. That doesn't go well with the big boss who is actually the America. But then they don't care as long as it pays. So...I don't know.

No surprise that Saudi Arabia was involved in forking out the cash money. We're still in the ugly triangle: Saudi Arabia, a US ally, funding ISIS, a US enemy.

Wishing well for everyone, and not choosing sides. But Turkey has had a difficult history for over 100 years now. I can only hope that your election will be respected inside and outside ... and things won't be as bad as you fear. Erdogan's prematurely arresting his generals, under charges of treason, was very curious and scary ... but Turkish military has been political before.

What the US and Saudi media reports and what the intelligence services of the respective countries know are not the same thing.
Nothing gets in the way of selling weapons around the globe and nothing is more profitable especially when you can falsely justify it by invoking FREEDOM even when it has absolutely nothing to do with it. If you're willing to sell trillions of dollars worth of weapons you've already given up on giving one shit about human life.

Most business ventures worth trillions of dollars tend to trump giving a shit about other human life. Trillions of dollars is a lot of money and people will do all sorts of horrible things for enough of it.
