Title: Hi!
Post by: ScarletAndGrey on October 12, 2015, 12:20:19 PM
Hi!

I grew up in the capital of Buckeye Nation! Everyone I've ever know in my life has been christian or catholic. My family, my friends, and aquaintances. I'm married to a christian and I love her more than anything! I made it clear to her very early on that I didn't believe!

I joined this forum because I love my family and friends VERY much. I have to hide my atheism from them because I know they wouldn't be receptive or understanding.Telling them may even destroy our relationship. So, I decided that I need to find a forum with people who's lives aren't ruled by doing right by a 2000 year old fictional character.

Nice to meet you all and I hope I can make some friends! :-)

Wise choice I think.  And welcome to this forum.  I think you will fit right in. :)

Welcome also.  My wife was a Catholic nun prior to our meeting, and a Protestant pastor after that.  Less problem for me though, since I remain a theist, but not a Christian.  There is a constant struggle to be true to yourself, and loyal to the people around you.

Welcome. MSU will destroy you in November. Until then, enjoy your #1 ranking.

Michigan is definitely looking like the real deal this year! Makes me happy though. The rivalry is boring when we just thump UM every year!

Sure is. It's really tough lol! I've always been a listener though so even when I was young and believed, I just listened. So, the only difference is now I'm just ignoring them lol! Exception being Wife and Mom. But everyone else just becomes background noise!

Until I was 22, nobody knew I could even speak ;-)  Well almost ... yes listening is the prequel to speaking.  Someday you will be the mouse that roared ;-))

Welcome to the forum! I feel you on hiding your atheism. I do the same in my house. My dad and step mom are hard core Christians. Anyway welcome and have fun!
