Horrible things are happening here in the country I live in the name of protection against terrorism. Familiar?
There are no news in English...American...French or German or Spanish or Chinese or Protegese or in Arabic or Farsi, this or that. NOTHING. Nothing in the international area...NOT FUCKING ONE!
They dragged a corpse of a female YPG guerilla, stripped naked in streets of a town in southeast. To scare others. And other similar stuff. People cannot get out from their houses in villages in souteastern or eastern parts. Civilians are under danger...probably killed.
There is no electricty, no water, no communication given to that area.
There is nothing on the news. Nothing. In any news. NOTHING! FUCKING NOTHING!
I don't remember what country you live in.
I'm sorry your suck there in that situation DS :(
Do you have any family in more safer regions you can board a train and get to?

I just wish you would get out of there - Turkey is probably the longest-going culture to be as violent and corrupt as it is!
I'm not under direct danger, people. I'm just trying to tell what is going on because there is no news source. (Is there anything personal in the OP?)
E: If I ever get direct harm for the obvious reasons, you'll never know it. So...the general... what's going on.

Naah....Romans were better. Certainly British (though lost the war) and Americans are the best. And before Egyptians...and before....Though Chinese would disagree for good about that. They were able to deal with turks good...so...
Edited.
What brought you to that country anyway?
drunkenshoe , I'm so sorry to know your country is fucked up more than ours by funda"mental" religion. :pai:

Thanks. Türkiye. But not really important. x
I'm sorry - I recall a past discussion on military service which you were part of, and I had the impression that you or your parents had you there via the US.
terrorrists behave like they live in kurdistan and announce that the regions which kurds have intensive population must be under control of terrorists. they want local domination.
the state of türkiye uses its natural right to fight terrorists. not all the kurd are terrorists but lost of them support terrorists.
you are a liar drunken.
Keep your head down, lady. You hurt or dead is what no one here wants.
(edit) we may not agree on a lot of shit but I respect your intelligence, and I didn't respond to your PMs because I had/have a lot on my plate right now. Stay safe.
Stay as safe as you possibly can shoezie, I wanted to bring you Halloween and I can't do that if you're not safe because I'll just worry

I never had any kind of discussion with anyone in this forum -in the last five years- to let anyone think that my parents were Americans or that they are military OR THAT they are at ANY POSITION RELATED WITH SOME ARMY to make me a part of it.
But in my country people often think that I'm gay, because they think it is exactly the same with what I do when I am horny. Get it?
In short, you are just lying. So, GO FUCK YOURSELF.
Shit. I feel very lucky that I don't truly know what that feels like. I'm sorry, that has to be heartbreaking and a lot of other things.

Sheeesh, I just got confused, and my memory fuzzes up after a couple of weeks. I was just getting to know others here at the time, which is an easy situation for the whosaidwhatz to get muddled. I know, should have stopped digging when my presumption turned out to be wrong. But I would not lie to you. I have come to hold you in the utmost respect, appreciating your intelligence and sensitivity, so please forgive that stupid gaffe.
I wish more could be done to make conditions less insane in Turkey, and I think I understand where your coming from with the lack of world coverage on the local violence which would have been known everywhere had it happend elsewhere. It seems they would have the attitude "Well, that's Turkey". How can a culture possibly become less brutish before people all over the world expect it to be more civil?
OK.
Hey Shoe, sorry to hear whats going on in ur country, you stay safe and take care of urself ok.....
jim
My thoughts are with you Shoesy.
Seems to me that Erdogan with the blessing of Washington has a news blackout underway. The use of the air base was very likely prefaced on the attacks on the Kurds, but try to sell that on the news and whoever does will likely be blackballed from press releases and conferences.
Stay safe toots.
Not something difficult to do. There are the news of dead soldiers. Everyday there are a few military funerals on tv. And it is very bad, they are kids under mandatory military service and they have no chance unless they run away as illegals. And people are watching that. There are also reports that many people from police force have resigned. Because there are a lot of police officers dead too. Well they have a chance to resign.
It's the usual life here from now I guess. I am trying to stay away from the news. I can't compartmentalise. I don't feel good.
He is trying to prevent the government being set with the secular parties and declare his presidency. We don't have a presidency system. It's his dream to bring it in to declare his dictatorship 'legally'. There will be a new election 2 months later. Everything went to garbage with the other one. They also want to hurry with that because their votes are dropping as far as I understand. I just don't believe it. They will cheat anyway.
Oh he has support from the US. And when he will start to act independetly -he alreadys does it- US will turn against them, because it will conflict with their policies. If everything goes for the worst, in at most 20 years we could see an American invasion. People think this is a crazy idea. Yeah...they too see themselves different from others.
I live in a city that the religious party never managed to win till they got in power. However, of course we will all be opened to danger. Bombs and attacks will happen. There were constabulary forces around avillage close to our summer site. It was said that Syrian refuges reported robbing a market near us and that was the reason. It's possible, but then those poor people are probably trying to survive. There are nearly 2 million Syrian refugess now in the country. I also fear that people will turn against them which some are. Most people look like they get their position, but the thing is when bad things start to happen this will change.

What is that exactly I am lying about? The violence? Tell me what I am lying about. They are not even fighting a clean war.
See guys, that is^the average turkish citizen. Everybody is ready to swallow the same bullshit. This is about the election and the lack of government and the new regime they want to install. And these people think they are fighting for their country.
SoldierofFortune, If you are supporting what is going on out there, you are supporting AKP. Period. But then how old are you? Are you even old enough to know what changed in the country in the last 13 years?
The biggest terrorist organization on the planet is the US. Don't believe that? Do some digging up the definition of terror and the way it's used and not the official definition as sanctioned by the state department. Just because we don't send soldiers with bombs strapped to themselves doesn't mean we don't use proxies at any turn to overthrow legally elected, democratic governments.
Well, it is directly proportional with the power any state or government have and can use. If it can, its policies get based on it. It's very profitable from where ever you look.

Sometimes I think mankind is a cosmic mistake and getting worse.
Without consciousness in the cosmos, it can make no mistakes. We are an accident of nature, of no interest to anyone beyond our tiny spot in one galaxy among millions. If the last remaining human species destroys itself tomorrow, the world will go on turning, nothing else in this universe will change, nobody will care. Which is why I feel so strongly the importance of our taking a positive attitude to our continued existence, when it's only us who can do anything to make our destiny hopeful.
