Hello my name is Chris Mackison, but most people just call me Mack. I have been doing a lot of soul searching trying tonfigure out who I really am. I've done a lot of reserch looking into different religions trying to see which one I fit in, and none really matched the way I felt. In fact? The more I read, the more I realized that all inwas doing was reading make believe stories. I sat down and pondered and came to accept I really don't believe any of those stories. I learned that deep down I'm an atheist. I have yet to tell my wife who is a hardcore catholic, but I'm not going to let that stop be from being who I am. So I'm reaching out to you all who share the same thought about religion so I can make friends who believe the same I do without being judged.
You have come to a good place, Mack. Welcome.
Welcome to the forum.
Many atheists are former believers, so you're definitely not alone. Furthermore, the number of non-believers is on the rise.
As for disclosing this your spouse, it might be best to at least wait until you've sorted things out internally. Become more familiar with other atheists who can share their stories on how they cope. Quite a few have religious spouses as well.

Welcome. Excellent statement by Aletheia. I came out of the Mormon religion with my family intact many years ago, so it is doable. We have plenty of resources if you spend the time to look.
My first offering is this:

423 reasons Christianity is wrong.
I will provide other links and I'm sure others will as well.
Former Christian here. I consider myself in recovery. It's great. Welcome.
My gf is a self proclaimed christian and tells me god is quite amused by my atheism. Hey, I'm happy to be entertaining whenever possible..
Welcome aboard, Mack. I'm a lifelong atheist, but most folks here are former theists and particularly former Christians, so you're in good company.
Welcome Mack, good for you man.
Welcome to our little band of heathens, Mack.
Plenty here are ex-christians. I'm one of them. My gf isn't religious, but believes in all sorts of weird stuff from fortune-telling to an afterlife... but no god.
I find that I love her more way more than I hate people believing in such things, so it works out for us. Take some time to sort out your thoughts and feelings on the matter. And prepare yourself in that there could be an argument between you two. But that's why it's especially important that you take some time to figure out things for yourself first.
Afternoon Mack & Welcome to the Madhoose.......
Welcome aboard Mack! :pirate:
Welcome Mack! But if you are seeking others who believe the same way you do then you have come to the wrong place. This is not a place for those who believe but rather a place for those who don't believe. And that can apply to just about anything. Once I was rid of belief in a god, I have been able to shed many other beliefs as well.

Apparently not the belief in incoherent posts.

Hahaha... but I am improving. I just need more experience.
Hiya Mack.
