SURPRISE!
QuoteThe subject of the top-selling Christian book The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven has recanted his story about life after death, prompting bookstores to pull it from their shelves, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.
“I did not die. I did not go to Heaven,†Alex Malarkey said in a statement published on the Christian site Pulpit and Pen. “I said I went to heaven because I thought it would get me attention. When I made the claims that I did, I had never read the Bible. People have profited from lies, and continue to. They should read the Bible, which is enough. The Bible is the only source of truth. Anything written by man cannot be infallible.â€

wow..what a surprise this is……I mean W.O.W. I am totally surprised….sheesh
I was king of hoping that it was that other kid from "heaven is for real" when I read the thread title, but I'll take what I can get.
Next time kid, go to a confessional. You can tell them anything :winkle:
Too late now.
I also was hoping it's the kid from heaven is for real. But same difference I guess.
why are they pulling these books from the shelves? That seems like a waste. I'd like to see what the kid wrote about when he lied!
No I guess they should pull it as some idiots will keep on believing the lie.
I had high hopes for the kid in his pursuit of taking money from stupid people. 'The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven' by Malarky should have been a dead giveaway.

Error error.
Does not compute.

Well, you see, the Bible is written by man. Anything written by man is fallible. Therefore, the Bible is infallible.

If I know Christians... the denial kicked in immediately and nothing now will convince them the book belongs in the "fiction" section in spite of the author's insistence.
Its too late for any of this. They read the book, believed it, and now it is irrecoverably true because for the irrecoverably gullible, thats all you need for something to be irrecoverably true.
Whatever the kid says now can simply be chalked up in the "Mysterious Ways/Testing Our Faith" category.

I don't know what to believe now. His last name seems appropriate, however.

Bullshit is bullshit, even if a kid says it

Don't worry, let the guilt build in him and it will soon come.
It must have been satan making him say it was just a lie. I mean the description and all because everyone knows satan is the charismatic dude, good looking and shit..
I heard the squealing tyres of thousands of Xtians pulling a U-turn....
Only Christians are surprised by this news. The rest of us knew all along that the kid was either lying or hallucinating.
It's funny how nobody thinks that in the periods between them being unconscious and the heart stopping that maybe they had a dream about something like everyone else on the planet has when they are not conscious.
It's also funny how no Christian stops to think that maybe the kid lied in order to make his book a bestseller.
A retard and his money are soon parted.

I don't think it was the kid that wanted in for a book deal, it was the father and all religious people around him. All it took was for a 6 year old to describe that in his subconscious he saw some things, and durr Christians wove what he said into there own interpretation of it, like they do with everything else.
