This is admittedly old news (from June 25), but very cool for me as I live an hour from Chicago.

Will Spock be there?
Wrong franchise.
No expanded universe? Not sure I am interesting, it's the EU that makes Star Wars so amazing. A shame that Lucas and Disney aren't willing to embrace it.
Chicago was a good choice. San Francisco by the Golden Gate bridge was definitely the wrong place, seeing as it's Starfleet Academy soil.
While it's great to have a Star Wars museum, I dunno if it's that good of an idea. While the first couple of films were monumental, the franchise has really taken a battering in recent years and even though there are still diehards galore, the fandom just doesn't have the same exuberance it once had. The new movie's going to be out before this museum is finished, and unless it does incredibly well (the odds are approximately 3,720 to 1), the museum might not have the same groundswell of support it might have had 10 or 20 years ago.
Yeah, for me the Ewoks marked the shark jump moment. I had high hopes for episodes 1-3, but the casting errors and terrible script were too much to overcome.
