Title: Americas really like Jews. Muslims and atheists? Not so much.
Post by: Mermaid on July 20, 2014, 10:37:43 AM
Late last week, the Pew Research And Public Life Project dropped a fascinating new survey on .

The pollsters used a "thermometer" that went up to 100 for respondents to plot just how warmly they felt toward different communities. They deemed a rating of more than 50 as positive, while a rating of less than 50 was deemed negative.

Perhaps surprisingly, Jews were viewed more warmly than any other group. With a mean rating of 63, they just beat out Catholics at 62 and evangelical Christians at 61 for the top spot.

I don't know about hateful in this case, but it certainly does shed light on fearing diversity.

People everywhere are loving too, what's your point?  There are good reasons to hate, and stupid reasons to hate, and also stupid reason to love---like imaginary creatures that control your life.  :flowers: Solitary

That isn't the point of the article. It happens to be the focus of the research, but it speaks to a larger problem.

Argumentum ad populum

I'd rather be part of a smaller group of people and feel like I have an identity then part of a majority and feel like just another number.
