Title: Happy Fourth of July!
Post by: Happythecat on July 04, 2014, 10:00:06 AM
Happy Fourth of July everyone! 238 years ago, the Declaration of Independence was signed in rebellion to our english leaders. Today we celebrate that fateful day, and rejoice with fireworks and happiness! Too bad this country was built on a cult, however. So, to celebrate, I decided to share a few things Christians say to Atheists. (And should NOT say)

#1: Where do you get your MORALITY from?

This coming from the ones who believe gays and lesbians should be put to death and stoned, and the ones who threaten children with eternal torture unless they follow your cult rules. Honestly, Atheists may have more morals than christians. You don't need god to be a good person.

#2: Your life must be so EMPTY!

*face palm* Come on christians, really? We don't believe in GOD but we believe in many other things that give our lives purpose. Like friends, family, teaching, learning, etc. We don't need an imaginary friend to be happy.

#3: You can't DISPROVE god!

No, I can't. But, when you prove the "Flying Spaghetti Monster" doesn't exist, or Unicorns don't exist, we'll play the game, alright?

#4: What if you're WRONG?

What if I am wrong? What if you are wrong? You would have spent your ENTIRE life, your one on this earth worshipping a god that doesn't exist, and giving time and money to a cult. If I am wrong, an all-good god will punish me for asking honest questions and searching for myself what the correct answer is, and not coming to the conclusion he likes? No, he wouldn't.

#5: Just open your heart to god.

This is my favorite. No, my heart is fine, nothing wrong with it! If you want to explain your proof to me, go ahead! Comment below, and thanks for reading!

Stay Logical My Friends,

#6 Our country was founded on Christian principles.

I think the Philippines would beg to differ. They gained their Independence from the United States on July 4th, 1946.

Also, British India became India and Pakistan on July 4th, 1947.

For a while a group in Belgium celebrated our Independence Day because we liberated them during the war, and coincidentally enough the grave of Lafayette, one of the most important guys that got our independence is covered with a French and American flag in France

It was one of the few monuments that the Germans left completely untouched hen they occupied France

Blah blah blah.. Another day for beer sales and an excuse to put your neighbors at risk of having their house burned down by some dipshit setting off fireworks in his driveway..

I'm not into the usausausa thing although I heard that ridiculous chant on the street last night by a bunch of alleged 'patriotic Americans'.

That's something an anti-american commie would say. Are you a pro-Obama communist?

I like your list Happy. I get those questions a lot too, and it can be exasperating.

I would definitely not say "Christian," but It does really piss me off at Jefferson (a man I greatly admire) that he didn't have the foresight to leave out the deism from the Declaration of Independence. I would rather that he said simply that all are equal under the law, and deserving of certain rights. But he instead chose to word it in an unfortunate manner, "...created equal..." and "...endowed by their creator..." Now Christians use it to "prove" that our legal system is based on rights given by God. I realize their argument is not a sound one, but the wording of the document does kind of lend itself to that kind of misconstruing.
