Title: Greetings, I like puzzles.
Post by: Ferrin on June 08, 2014, 07:04:52 AM
I thought it'd be nice to start this off with the following;

Science is the method we use to solve the puzzle of the universe. We can't start at the edge as we don't know where the edge is, we find out more puzzle pieces as we solve more of the puzzle. If we notice the puzzle being inconsistent, we need to break part of it down and fit those pieces elsewhere.

Unrefined, but I think it's fairly accurate.

I'm Ferrin, 24 years old and from the Netherlands. Just joined because of the discussions which I might take as an opportunity to learn something.

Welcome.

So are you an atheist or a theist?

Thank you! :)

That makes me curious though, what do you think I am from the few lines I've said?

I have no idea, and I hate to sound rude, but I'll explain my motive for asking the question.  Your "few lines" don't tell me anything.  We have lots of theists who come here trying to hide their identity, sometimes expressing a fake interest in science, and often starting with, "I have come here to learn," when in fact they have no intention of learning anything, and simply want to preach.  I just thought I could save myself some time, by determining your orientation to religion at the beginning.

Eventually, your intentions will become known, of course, but I'd rather not play along with a "gamer".

Well, sad to say that I am indeed a gamer, but not in the sense you mean, I like computer games. ;)

I'm an atheist, and I suspected that might have been your motive, but it'd be bad manners to just assume your thoughts before asking. I actually like that you didn't assume anything and went with a straight question. I do admit to enjoying not being entirely straightforward with things at times to see what people assume about what I say. It's fairly amusing to see how far I can get people to misunderstand me without lying. Well, I don't do it often though, usually starts if people have a misunderstanding about me which I don't debunk.

I enjoy, RTS, TBS, RP games. My favorite genre in these games is fantasy, and the most important factors are customization(of gameplay and personalization), and controls. I do not usually enjoy games where it's awkward to do what my mind wants. This is where I really like TBS games as they allow me to do what I want without time constraints.

Welcome to the dark side. We had cookies, but I think AITM ate 'em all.

How do you like your baby? Baked or BBQ'd?

Welcome, Ferrin!

We used to do puzzles a lot in the psych-ward, but there was always a piece missing at the end. I'm sure that means something profound, but I'm not sure what.
