Title: My favorite Artist Died
Post by: Solitary on May 13, 2014, 02:07:00 PM
I'm glad I'm an artist. Because he said if you like his art you are either crazy or an artist.

I saw this today. I was really upset when I heard.

Huge amount of inspiration from him. Mostly the reason I went in to art.

 I've been to his museum several times (I live not that far from it) and it was every time a big pleasure to see his works. Oh, and the Giger bar next to the museum is also a place to see. RIP Hans Rudolf.

Gruyères, Switzerland.

EDIT: Here's the museum's website (http://www.hrgigermuseum.com/index2.php?option=home)

Giger's art always creeped the hell out of me, which I guess means he did his job. Can't say I liked his work, per se. Fascinated, yes. Transfixed by the chill of the surreal, definitely. Liked? No. If I was gifted any of his work, I would have gotten it out of the house at the first opportunity.

HR Giger always was.. interesting. The insanity of his art was very inspirational, and often terrifying to look at, yet still not so far into gratuitous to just be passed off.
If you could count on anyone to do fucked up works of genius, he was the guy.

His work seems really cool... I must be broken, because it doesn't creep me out at all :|.

I lied. I actually knew that. Never really been a fan of his work, though.

Well I'm not familiar with this person but I'm sorry for your sense of loss all the same. You have my genuine condolences.

Now lets get to the more important issue, you're an artist? I was not aware of that. What is your medium(s) of choice?
