Ok, do Jews take two months of advertising before Chanukah? NO! OK, so I went to a Lowes grocery store yesterday, and they had Christmas music playing ALREADY, and not even Thanksgiving. So I am listening to the mix of magic baby songs and Santa songs wanting to put a bullet in my brain. Thinking I am the only one, but on my way out the cashier/ bag guy took the huge risk of commenting to me about having to put up with listening to that crap all day. I think maybe he might have overheard me on my way in groaning about it. I told him I was with him. I get that people believe different things and celebrate different holidays, but the fucking blatant commercialism makes me want to vomit. I am no fan of the bible in the slightest, but wasn't it Jesus who knocked over the merchants tables?
Christians, you are not the only religion in the world. And don't you gullible people understand that music is put in your head to make you spend money most of you don't have? You want to celebrate your fictional god, I wont stop you. But damn people you don't have to make such a fucking production out of it.
Gee..preaching to the choir again? This is nothing new in the least. My dad is no christer, but worked 40 years in print advertising for big department stores. Well over 80% of his time was spent preparing ads for one day.. guess which one.
I do my best to ignore it, but it's not going away. It's the anual leading of the lambs to the christmas slaughter..
Are we lacking the Christmas Spirit here? I think you need to talk to Eve about this. :rollin: Solitary
Christmas? Again?
Didn't we have that last year?

They certainly act like they've never had one. OH MY GOD OH MY GOD, like they are jacking off.
I know it's coming, I still have to fix up the full menu for christmas dinner this year :D
Let's hope I can at least avoid most of the christmas music. I'm glad my family don't really care for it. And that we don't have a radio to play it on even if they'd want to.

I spent last christmas in a homeless shelter watching thugs ripping off people who were attempting to do nice things..
Fuck christmas. It's the greediest day of the year and typically brings out the worse in people including overwhelming hypocrisy.
I just want free stuff/excuse to spend this money I have in the bank. That alone is a good enough reason for me to like Xmas. But yeah, seeing these ads this early is stupid. At least wait till Black Friday, or the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade at the ABSOLUTE minimum.
I heard rumors that next year they are going to start advertising in february right after valentines day.
Sometimes being hard of hearing is an advantage. Hearing aids have an "off" switch, which is nice.
Christmas carols? I don' hear no fuckin' Christmas carols!
Well, I hate to spoil the mood, but I've had my house decorated and the tree up for two weeks already. I'm serious. I know it's a bit early, but I'm having family for Thanksgiving, and I won't be seeing them at Christmas, so I thought I'd surprise them with a little bit of Holiday spirit. I didn't want to wait on the decorations until the last minute, because I'll be busy cleaning and getting ready for company at that time.
I like Christmas and the Holidays. You get days off for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years. If you like to drink, it's a basic part of the whole theme. What's not to like? For once, we can thank our local merchants and large corporations for commercializing the whole thing and making the true meaning of Christmas about getting presents from people.
Happy Holidays, everyone! :-D
Tis the season to...
1) Drive with your radio off
2) Keep the tv remote handy
3) Wear earplugs whenever you walk into a store
The same songs are played endlessly and almost impossible to escape. Its like being in a swing state during a presidential election. LEAVE ME ALONE!

If Wallmart thought it would make them more money doing it that far in advance they would.
