Anyone interested in participating in a TEAMS meeting to discuss the future of the forum?
Of course.
If you need donations I'm on board.

It isn't money that's the problem. At least not right now. The problem is the forum is in need of some maintenance, and the only people with the privigles (admins) don't seem to interested in it any more. What I am wondering is what do us few remaining hangers on here want to do if/when it dies completely. I know several of us on on other forums but many are not. Do we just want to let this one die, or would enough people be interested in me standing up a replacement site? Something like atheistforums.net?
This is the only thing I do online that could be called social media, so I'd really miss it if it were to go away.
I used to have 60+ forums. They're not the thing anymore with the impatient crowd. The hardcore fans should have somewhere to go, that's for certain. Reddit is swamped with trolls, Facebook is ... something? The twits love twitter, seemingly not getting the joke.
I've had to give this some thought.
As staff, I am quite incompetent to manage anything other than the five or six buttons I am familiar with, so pretty much useless other than that.
The last time we asked Naru what kind of price he wanted to sell the forum, although at the time we had no one capable OR willing to handle the sites guts. I believe it was less than 2 grand and at the time I was willing to donate half of that should the others be interested, but we were still left without a true admin.
If the suggestion is to start a new forum so someone can become familiar with the guts as part of a tutorial, am I not opposed as long as Naru is currently clear of any additional expenses to allow him to shut it down or even sell it outright.
If we wish to just merge with another forum we do lose a bit of familiarity with the gang here and I for one would miss that even though my visiting is not as often, but being recently retired perhaps that may change.
Yes the forum has gotten a mite "stale" as we closed the doors a bit.
Opening the doors lets in new members but also a slew of bots.
My opinion is to find us a new admin, buy the place as a member owned forum, get someone who can set up the programming to eliminate the bots as best possible and keep going. And provide a mild stipend to said admin for the admin work.
Please do contact me when you get to the soliciting funds stage, at latest. I'm not rich but I have some disposable funds and this is actually the first forum I check every day when I log on.
@aitm I think I PM'd you. Notice I said I think because I got CRS bad. I know I wrote it, but I don't know if I hit send. If we have a sent messages folder these days I can't find it. One of the things that could use an upgrade around here.
Let me know if you didn't get something.
Got it and responded.
