Title: Weight loss. Finally found something that worked for me.
Post by: PopeyesPappy on June 28, 2024, 04:30:18 PM
So I managed to get pretty fucking fat over the last 35ish years. I'm 5'9" and between the late 80's and last year I went from about 150 to 250. It wasn't so much activity level. I'm still pretty active. It was more what and how much I ate. I tried several different diets without a whole lot of success. At one point about 10 years ago I went from 220 down to 185.  I quickly gained all that back and more over the next several years.

Last summer I decided to try again. This time with Weight Watchers. I'm just using the app to keep track of what I eat. On August 18, 23 I weighed in at 248. I lost weight quickly the first few months. It has slowed since then, but I have continued to make steady progress. I hit a milestone of sorts this morning. Down 75 lbs to 173. I'd like to lose another 18 lbs. and get to 155 then try to keep my weight between 155 and 160. I don't know if I'll get there or not, but that is my goal.

In the meantime I think using the app and weighing regularly has given me enough insight into how much of what I should and shouldn't be eating to keep from getting so big again. Carbs are the devil. Processed sugar is his right hand man.

Lost 120 pounds on semaglutide. Kept it off for the past eleven years, some time like that anyway.
