The person on the last link said that he made a rant on how Disney is always becoming a monopoly these days and that everything Disney buys and owns the rights to becomes in his words "generic" and "mediocre" which leaves out smaller companies, then he proceeds to complain about Disney and Marvel fans apparently lost their minds. I haven't bothered to read the actual article because I don't want to hurt myself.
I find it particularly annoying that a lot of people tend to whine about modern movies when they can't seem to acknowledge that times are changing and things are different now compared to decades ago. I don't mind change in that understanding. I feel it allows a new generation of filmmakers a chance to express their ideals and creativity.
Unfortunately it's constantly trashed on by older gens for a bunch of petty reasons. While I get that it's all a matter of preference, I feel however that it's gone way too far. I don't find it surprising that older people are very averse to what the young do, and it's sad. And they were the same people whose ancestors criticized them for their preferences.
It's a never-ending cycle. Why can't people just accept others' differences and move on?
The Great Train Robbery was the pinnacle. After that things went down hill PDQ.
Now that technology has progressed to the extent that it has, allowing things to be done that could never be done before, film makers are simply taking advantage of that ability.
I enjoy the eye candy that results, but I still prefer older movies like Cool Hand Luke.
Avenger's Endgame needed a LOT of CG at the ... endgame. Wouldn't have been nearly comicbooky without it. I approve.
