All about fake news and how subtle tricks of the media are used to mislead you.
Elon Musk's "Pravda" is needed more today than ever. ( https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/999367582271422464 (https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/999367582271422464) )
Just do a short Google search on that, and you'll find article after article vilifying Elon Musk's idea, not because the idea does not have merit, but because they're scared it would delegitimize the media they work in. Because it would rate their work. A sort of a Rottentomatoes for media.
Some media use tricks to confuse people. Are you talking about Trump and his routine use of "fake news" to mean "whatever facts he finds inconvenient"?
I don't think he was ... all sides use it. This is why humanity should be killed, indiscriminately. Germ warfare anyone?

You fail the equivalency test. You consider a slight push on one side to be the same as "despotic wanna be" on the other.

thats a ridiculous blanket statement. You missed Sals and Baruch's point, and only view things from one side, the side you dislike are the only ones who do this, when in fact they all do it.
I thought you were an old, learned bear. Surely you've live long enough to understand any political side is capable of the same things.
That's why we call news biased. However I like CNN alot better than most.

Sorry, Munch, but my point IS that both sides are not the same. One side pushes the limits to their advantage more than the other. And I'm on that "other" side. And I say that BECAUSE I am an old learned bear.
Let's just say that 50 years of political experience has shown me that when challenged, Republicans circle the wagons and fire outward against all enemies, while Democrats look within and clean house.
Democrats demanded among themselves that Al Franken had to go. But Republicans will support Trump to the bitter end for much worse.
THAT'S the difference...

Yes. Rhetorically because as human beings, they are both imperfect ... and as a Puritan (and all SJW are puritans, same as Muslim jihadis) compared to perfection, all must be exterminated to establish the purity you (people) require. Right handed fanatic vs Left handed fanatic ... both in need of Frontal Lobotomies, to make life manageable for us Independent Centrists who are not fanatics.

Yes, Munch, ALL political systems are flawed and full of liars and cheats. But that does not mean that they are equal in those flaws or that the flaws are the same or to the same degree. It is not black-and-white. It is all gray, and that is what makes it difficult. We have to learn how to parse to what degree are the parties flawed and how are they flawed. It is also true that some political parties or systems are more destructive to the masses than others. To dismiss what Trump is doing as simply what other politicians do is to give Trump and his ilk permission to keep on doing their damage.

Case you forget I'm not american, so I only look at your politicians from a distance. But theres so much crap that comes from both sides regardless of whoevers in charge if i were american i'd be just as resolved not to vote for any sides just looking at the dirty tactics and corruption both your major parties have, and I wouldn't ever vote on the principle of the lesser of two evils.
its the south park analogy of a giant douche or a turb sandwich, where they tried to claim your always voting for either a giant douche or a turb sandwich. but why should anyone settle for either, and instead expect something better offered.

I would suspect that political parties for all times and in every location are flawed. that still does not make them equal; one still has to pay attention how are they flawed and how destructive are those flaws. Sometimes the lessor of all evils is the only option left. I don't watch south park so your analogies of that program are lost on me--and I don't consider that program to be any great font of political expertise.

Can't argue with that, both parties suck.
It gets worse. Joe Rogan vs Alex Jones ... for 4 hours ... 6 million views. Alex Jones had crazy guests. He tends to take minor details and string them into giant conspiracies.
How about not only 3rd trimester unnecessary abortions (for organ harvesting = $50K per baby) but vivisection of live birth babies for organ harvesting = $500,000 per baby)?
They used to have horror stories about this happening to sick adults in criminal hospitals ... but what if, it is actually happening in the obstetrics clinic, not the geriatric clinic?
There is no morality with humans. They are strictly motivated by bat shit crazy politics or the $$$ toward purely criminal behavior.
A communist is a capitalist, who wants their government and their mono-party to make the immoral profits rather than the giant corporations and their investors (often pension funds). A left foot forward goose-step instead of a right foot forward goose-step. Governments and corporations are both ... giant conspiracies.

On the current virtue signaling ...
“For we each of us deserve everything, every luxury that was ever piled in the tombs of the dead kings, and we each of us deserve nothing, not a mouthful of bread in hunger. Have we not eaten while another starved? Will you punish us for that? Will you reward us for the virtue of starving while others ate? No man earns punishment, no man earns reward. Free your mind of the idea of deserving, the idea of earning, and you will begin to be able to think.â€

Ehh...CNN has a lot of oopsies. From mistaking an obviously fake ISIS flag for the real thing to "who is this hacker known as 4chan?" to an alleged satellite interview with two anchors apparently in the same parking lot to scandalously shoddy reporting (https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/wp/2017/06/26/three-cnn-employees-resign-over-retracted-story-on-russia-ties/?utm_term=.4f23ec5fd233) to just plain getting basic facts wrong (https://www.huffingtonpost.com.au/2016/03/01/australia-slovenia-wall-cnn_n_9359442.html). I have lots of misgivings with that organization. But compared to Fox News (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/11340515/Fox-News-nine-other-cringeworthy-gaffes.html) they're practically Reuters reporters.
I consider MSNBC to be primarily an opinion/editorial vehicle. That's not necessarily bad, just be aware of it.
Also, I've noticed that some news publications aren't above indulging in some narcissistic (https://www.theguardian.com/media/2018/dec/17/guardian-most-trusted-newspaper-in-britain-says-industry-report) self-aggrandizement (https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-times-is-most-trusted-national-newspaper-r0tr7zfmz). in my father's time, every town had two newspapers. One Democrat and the other Republican. Young people don't know this. Back then both were publishing fake news. Now that we usually only have one newspaper left, it is mostly used to line bird cages, which is the best use it could have. Unfortunately in the era of radio, TV and now streaming, none of that is even good enough to line a bird cage. But you could try putting your tablet on streaming, at the bottom of your bird cage, and see if Poly craps all over it ;-)

Most cities had 2 newspapers in MY time. But for most of MY lifetime, they were both political papers focussing on national news. They were liberal and conservative, but with good editors and writers. I DO recall a local rag where I grew up, but everyone there only read the local stuff and ignored the nutso editorials (and note that I am not saying what his political views were).
