I don't know if this will end up getting posted. I keep receiving the message that my posts have to be approved by a moderator. This is a huge change since I joined this website 2 years ago. Honestly, how can you blame people for not wanting to join and stay when they are effectively being censored? It's kind of like assuming someone committed a crime although they have done nothing suspicious or wrong. As atheists, and open minded people, I would have tended to believe most of you guys would not like censorship.
Secondly, when I first joined, I was unable to post under any category except for introductions and help. Granted, I'll be fair and admit that I was told this is a glitch, which it likely is. However, being followed up with censorship by moderators has killed it for me. I am going to have to say goodbye. I'm sorry. :(
Ciao. Although these measures are basically in place to weed out the religious folk who want to spam their nonsense all over the boards, and will go away after a few posts.

The reason your posts are being "approved" is because the threads you were originally posting in were moved to the Members Only subforum for certain reasons. As you've been told, someone with under 10 posts cannot post in Members Only places (to weed out trolls), and that's why we had to go back and "approve" all the posts you've made. As this is a completely new issue for us, I'm sure it will be fixed to allow previous posts of "under 10" members to remain without needing approval when a thread is moved to a restricted area.
But if you want to jump to conclusions about too strict moderation and censorship a
second time, feel free to do so.

I decided to log back on to write a response to some of you. I want to apologize, because it was not my intent to draw attention to myself. I know it's hard for me to say this to people who don't know me, but I am far from the attention seeking type. I am actually pretty asocial in person, and I'm the type who hopes people don't notice me.
I was simply posting this here because I thought...if new people join and they have those same problems, that might be the reason they aren't staying. Honestly, people don't like to feel as if they are being censored. Many people would join, and if they couldn't post they just wouldn't come back.
Posting "replies" are allowed in any forum visible to you. You couldn't do it before and that was a permission error. That was corrected

We welcome you. :) But, we just had a recent crash. Some of the bugs are being worked out. We're usually pretty open to, well,
anyone. I'm sorry if any of it was off-putting, but that's not usually the norm.

:-D I'm very happy you came back! You are the kind of person we want here. I hate censorship having been an artist all my life, and had paintings censored because of the subject matter. I got back one time when they wouldn't accept my piece. They had all the paintings lining a long hallway, and would move each one up until it was at the end on exhibit. I did a surrealist painting that looked like a sandy beach scene up close. It hung on the walls for a month until it was at the end, and from farther away it was a nude woman laying on her side with a real bush for her bush. :shock: He! He! Solitary

I think in forums such as this it's pretty common for a new comer to be monitored to make sure they're not a spam bot or a troll. (in fact we had a troll yesterday from trying to be more lax). Point being - everyone makes their way here as new people. Best to read through threads, get to know members, and tell us more about yourself. We all get to know you in time. Don't be put off. Just chime in. Really - having to post 10 posts prior to total freedom (starting your own threads) on the forum is really not that big a deal. Surely there's 10 topics going here where you can comment. Heck, I can post 10 posts in about 5 mins in 10 different threads LOL.
Give us another try and see if you don't like it here. There's a broad spectrum of topics AND people......... outgoing ones, shy ones, serious ones, silly ones....... we've got a full house.
Just consider that a little censorship is good for You, too, when you're a member here. Would you like to be a member of a forum and get bullied or trolled? Maybe not. Our mods do a good job here.

Hey guys, I appreciate your kind responses. I know trolls are a huge problem, I remember when I was on this forum last time there was a lot of fighting because of it. I even used to try to debate with them, and of course it always fails. Since a lot of things have happened to me in the past few years I have calmed down a lot. I don't feel nearly as offended or aggravated by them anymore because I have accepted the transient nature of people and situations. After I lost the most important person in my life, I pretty much realized there is no point in letting people upset you. If I did, I would literally be upset all the time. That may have actually been one reason I drifted away from this forum at the time- to avoid conflict and things upsetting to me.
I just wanted to let you know I won't be posting anymore on this thread because I really don't want to draw any additional attention to myself. I just wanted to personally acknowledge you for responding to me. As I told someone yesterday, it would've been easier for everyone to ignore and dismiss me. Therefore, I recognize and appreciate your kindness. Thank you all.

Did you notice in the replies that no one was censoring you, it was just a system problem that's now corrected?
