My Sister and Brother-in-Law travel a lot, and were planning a trip to Sweden last summer, but they decided they didn't want to be around the current turmoil. They weren't afraid, I don't think. They just put Sweden down to the bottom of their list of places they would like to visit. It's too bad too, not just because it's where my ancestors come from, but it's always seemed like such an easy going place with nice people.
