Yep.  Or to paraphrase Nandor the Relentless, when you decide to attack your neighbors, you wake up one day and find that you are alone.

A perennial debate with my brother.  His latest salvo:

While I respect and appreciate operating systems which allow for superuser behavior (users who command vast amounts of control over their system, usually in tandem with higher technical knowledge than the average person, because such nearly unrestricted power can have adverse effects when implemented incorrectly) I maintain that the bulk of humanity is either incapable or uninterested in such a setup and merely wants to watch YouTube, fire off emails, etc and a "good enough" OS is perfectly fine for that, especially if it is relatively simplistic and intuitive.

However, "good enough" systems are often poorly managed - victims of bloatware, nagware, adware, and - a relatively new phenomenon - very short product cycles requiring "upgrading" to the new OS which is no longer much of an actual upgrade but simply an excuse to force a new round of license-buying.  It seems inevitable that "good enough" software degrades into "not good enough" software due to well-meaning but detrimental actions (bloat) or to greedy and unscrupulous management decisions.  For this I have no solution that doesn't involve threats similar to the one allegedly uttered by the Costco co-founder to the Costco CEO regarding the price of Costco's hot dog combo.

Yeah, I can't be bothered with Linux and running all my windows programs in a Linux Shell. Plenty of Windows hacks too, if you really wanna get rid of most of the annoyances.

Both A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong are phenomenally hilarious! 🤣

My thoughts watching this: "This is either really fake or very unethical. How could they...oh, it's a joke."
"Oh, wearisome condition of humanity,
Born under one law, to another bound;
Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."
