Impeachment is a process, not an outcome. Two American presidents have been impeached, neither one was removed from office. Top be removed from office, the House needs a simple majority to refer to the Senate. The Senate requires 2/3 supermajority to convict and force a president from office. These only time it would have happened was Nixon. His own party warmed him the Senate had the votes for it, so he resigned before the inevitable.
