Yeah, that's been in the pipeline here for months, actually.  The (Republican) Speaker of the Ohio House has basically told the wingnuts to go fuck themselves, it's not coming onto *his* floor.  And the (Republican) leader of the Ohio Senate has essentially said if it somehow reaches his side of the state house, it's DOA anyway.

Just a bunch of tiny dicks looking for some political Viagra, and getting a placebo instead.

When the Revolution comes, the RINOs will be the first to the wall ;-)

Good.  I thought for a moment I was living in bizarro world and a bunch of people, even prominent politicians, were just completely crazy and viewed common-sense disease prevention as something deeply objectionable.  Can you imagine?!

Congress in the 19th century in ignorance, made the true value of Pi illegal (separate incompatible legal definitions of measurement).  Politicians are useless, that is why democracy is a complete failure (see Plato's Republic).

We are going to get the Chinese vaccine. What do you think about the differences between new generation vaccines and the old fashioned ones?

You are lucky.  The Russian and Chinese versions are probably equally good (they have access to the weapons development)

Covid Pfizer vaccine approved for use next week in UK

Apparently the first batche ,s 40 million for 20 million people. 2 shots per head.

Biggest problem worldwide is not enough medical freezers, vaccines have to be kept cold.  The ones given to 3rd World probably will be complete crap due to lack of refrigeration.  The goal of the Elite is always to differentially get rid of brown people (see Planned Parenthood).

Let's hope all the vaccines will work.

Apparently, Chinese vaccine doesn't need -70 kind of high tech freezers. That's good news for us.

It's also said that it is going to be free here but I'll believe it when it happens.

I'll be taking the shots the first chance I get.

I don't know enough about the Chinese vaccine to comment.
A cynical habit of thought and speech, a readiness to criticise work which the critic himself never tries to perform, an intellectual aloofness which will not accept contact with life’s realities â€" all these are marks, not as the possessor would fain to think, of superiority but of weakness. -TR

We don't need no stinkin' vaccine, we need more tax cuts for the wealthiest among us!

3,100 deaths per day

We're very nearly at one 9/11 per day.  Remember how people agonized over that, asking themselves what could have been done to prevent it and what we should do to prevent a future one?  Well, now we're in a way worse problem except it's politically polarized, so the same people treat this like it's some sort of game.

Per previous question ...

"Pfizer CEO "Not Certain" Vaccine Will Stop People From Spreading COVID-19" .. of course a CEO isn't a real medical scientist, just a talking head for the corporate board.

"WHO claims vaccine will not end COVID-19 pandemic" ... duh ... yearly seasonal flu shots didn't end the flu.  This is your new normal as a slave to fear of germs.  Howard Hughes world.

Covidiots stage secret get-together, flaunt virus rules

QuoteCrowds gathered, masks were not worn and pictures were taken. And by Friday, the event space, in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, was shut down.
QuoteWhen New York City officials questioned the event, the 26-year-old president of the group, Gavin M. Wax, hurled a Yiddish vulgarity at Brad Hoylman, a Democratic state senator. His club referred to a former city councilman and other Jewish critics as “court Jews.” (Mr. Wax is also Jewish.)

Vaccinations start this month.  But who gets them first?  There is general agreement that 1st responders, the elderly, and essential workers should be first, but now the lobbyists are entering the picture, and it's not that simple.  This is especially obvious with "essential workers" because how they are defined lends itself to semantic gamesmanship.  And this is where the lobbyists come in.  I'm surprised no one has suggested that the wealthiest 1% should be first, but it's not that necessary, because most of them will be the first anyway.

There was also included a coalition for the poor in determining order of vaccination priority, but I don't think economic status should be a factor for the poor anymore than it should be for the rich.  But I'm sure there are arguments against my opinion there too.  There may be better arguments that focus on other issues.  Suggested in the article were arguments about prioritizing overall outcomes.  For example, do you want to slow the spread or reduce deaths?  Such arguments seem more reasonable to me than those based on identity politics, and there are reasonable arguments for and against both "slowing spread" and "reducing death" outcomes.
Quote
“If your goal is to maximize the preservation of human life, then you would bias the vaccine toward older Americans,” Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former Food and Drug Administration commissioner, said recently. “If your goal is to reduce the rate of infection, then you would prioritize essential workers. So it depends what impact you’re trying to achieve.”

The trade-off between the two is muddied by the fact that the definition of “essential workers” used by the C.D.C. comprises nearly 70 percent of the American work force, sweeping in not just grocery store clerks and emergency responders, but tugboat operators, exterminators and nuclear energy workers. Some labor economists and public health officials consider the category overbroad and say it should be narrowed to only those who interact in person with the public.

Mike Cl

This is pie-in-the-sky thinking, but the first responders/health workers need the vaccine first.  Then the most at risk (elderly and compromised health wise) and then the poor.  The poor?  They are the pool that is hardest hit because they are poor.  Have to be out and about to just gather enough to survive.  That makes that pool the the pool that spreads it the fastest.  But that won't happen--as always the 1% will get their way.
