At least American football doesn't take place in a stadium hastily put together by modern slaves, working in extreme heat, sleeping in filthy camps with very limited space, with an unknown number of those people dying making not only the stadium, but the entire city surrounding it.

Born under one law, to another bound;
Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."

Definitely an issue overlooked by the meme maker, who presumably just wanted to poke fun at someone making a simple math error.

Looks like Elon is trying to weasel out of following the results of the poll, by using some BS excuse to skew the results in the favor of fan bois dumb enough to pay for a Twitter Blue subscription. Also, subscribers = investors, apparently.

I know twitter has some grander good that it does: warn people of earthquakes and stuff.
But can't those few things just find a different outlet?
Twitter was digital cancer even before the chief twit decided to make it ten times worse. Let him be the king of the shitheap. Lord of the ashes of a dream he himself torched down.
Fuck musk. Fuck twitter. Fuck all of this digital diarrhea.

Sorry, it's just: why does this even matter? Twitter is the ultimate form of giving power to your own fears and problems.
Let it dissapear up it's own nazi asshole as the black hole singularity of right wing bullshit implodes on itself.

Just don't care.
It's ruined. Just let it go and move on. It's like trying to salvage a meal out of a your week old garbage bag. Don't. Don't even try. It is not worth it.

I don't know. Many would perhaps say i'm overlooking some relevance or am being too simplistic.
But i never had twitter and i don't understand why it means so much to so many people.

Eventually, they'll have to.  I read something recently about one such service expressing dismay at the fecal-smeared playground it's becoming (I might be paraphrasing a bit)

The problem is that its competitors are not as simple or intuitive or nearly as popular.  But that'll change and this problem will Skype itself out.

I agree 100%. I never found Twitter a good experience. With the character limit, it was designed to be superficial. I get that many people love drama and attention and they want to be on the cutting edge of trends. I understand people need social media to promote their products, brands, lifestyles, and politics. Yes, there is a lot of money involved. What I'm really, really sick of is Twitter and Elon Musk dominating every corner of the news.

I have never considered using twitter--or instagram or any other form of social media.  Tried facebook and became almost instantly bored; stopped going to my page after a week.

Because it's sensational, it's brief and so designed to have a verbal rat race.

What do you call short verbal quarrels people have with strangers in streets in English? Twitter is exactly that.

The bad thing is a platform you described that warns/informs people doomed to fall in that way, if it's to be functional as to reach the widest audience. So in the end, again, basic human culture.

My guess is that in the near future, all kinds of main stream social media will cease to be anonymous. Maybe then it would change, but again, not sure.
