Perhaps there were some of us still holding out hope after the election that Trump would somehow turn into a completely different human being who never said anything as crazy as building a border wall and making Mexico pay for it, or did anything as despicable as sexually assaulting women at a whim.
By now those hopes have certainly been crushed. News over the past few weeks have revealed a president elect determined to keep his promises - no matter how ridiculous they were. Today he still insists that he will build a border wall and force Mexico to pay for it. He still plans to repeal Obamacare before he has anything to replace it with. The list of revolting and stupid promises he is attempting to keep goes on.
This is the worst case scenario. We have an honest politician. It's Trump. He's going to be the exact kind of president he said he would be, the kind we were all hoping he wouldn't be.
You have entered the Twilight Zone.
When a politician tells the people of all the evil stuff he has planned if elected, believe him.
Trump is pure evil, and I say this to anyone who did nothing to stop him: Fuck you. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.

I'll see myself out now.
Problem is the completely inept congress willing to rubber stamp most if not all of it unless they're given no choice but to vote for impeachment .
Well, I've heard it said that America's gotten the president it deserves...
Even if he doesn't manage to increase the well being of his supporters he'll just blame it on the Democrats, and his people will still love him.

Just what Nixon said ;-)
Some are however speculating that his policies are going to work against the republican party itself, such as how he's stripping independent watchdog groups, or lashing out against trade groups associated with the republican party. He seems intent on pissing off his own party as much as everyone else.
Don't like the fucker, but if he causes some rabble rousing from his own party that would be entertainment gold.

Fascinating. Whats the other side of the "make mexico pay for our border wall" argument? Whats the other side of the "I sexually assault women" argument? Whats the other side of the "I appointed an avid creationist who wants to abolish the department of education as head of the department of education" argument? Whats the other side of the "repeal Obamacare ASAP, even though we have nothing ready to replace it with and frankly at this point there is no need for emergency like speed" argument?
You see, a lot of these things are like murder. There might be any number reasons that guy blew his wife's brains out, but whatever they are they can never be justification. The media may be howling because they didn't get their chosen candidate. (Uh by the way I'm pretty sure the media has been cumming in its pants non-stop at the idea of a Trump presidency. Talk about filling their 24 hour news cycle). I'm howling because of the things he is actually doing.

Depends upon the kind of 'stones' they use.
Several times I've had conversations with people I know where they said some version of "I voted for Trump because Clinton's such a lair. . . . Well of course Trump's not actually going to [insert campaign promise]"
Recently Vox had two (http://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2016/12/13/13848794/kentucky-obamacare-trump) related articles (http://www.vox.com/2016/12/13/13920916/woman-obamacare-explains-why-voted-trump-repeal-change) about Trump/Republican voters who are certain that they couldn't possibly repeal Obamacare:
QuoteThere was a persistent belief that Trump would fix these problems and make Obamacare work better. I kept hearing informed voters, who had watched the election closely, say they did hear the promise of repeal but simply felt Trump couldn’t repeal a law that had done so much good for them. In fact, some of the people I talked to hope that one of the more divisive pieces of the law â€" Medicaid expansion â€" might become even more robust, offering more of the working poor a chance at the same coverage the very poor receive.
QuoteThe funny thing is, my husband said, “You know, [Trump]’s going to eliminate health care.†But he really can’t totally take it out, because everybody has to have health care. You can't go backward.
You can't go backwards? Say that to 14th century Spain.

the u.s. war on everything has been 100% successful. The whole point was to put more money in the pockets of the defense contractors.
The next 4 years may be different. usually the head politician lets them do whatever they want to get more money in their pockets, but now we got one that will probably be wantin to put the money in his pocket. might be a scuffle brewin there.

I don't know from democrats - I have no affiliation with any party, so I guess I'd be considered an independent. But in a choice between dems and republicans, I'll settle for dems.
Trump could personally order the bloody brutal assassination of the first born child and/or grand parent of every single Trump voter and they would find a way to blame it on Hilary and still love everything he does. He could then personally show up at every one of the funerals, step to the mic and announce that he personally ordered this murder and that it was his personal choice and that no one else had anything to do with it and that he also personally hired the hookers who were now pissing on the casket, and his supporters would still rationalize that it was somehow Hilary's fault.
This entire affair is going to completely destroy any trust anyone ever had in our system of so called democracy.
It was pretty bad before, but I think from here on out the public at large will no longer have any faith that our 'public servants' will ever serve the public, but instead serve only themselves. Sure, plenty of people already believe that there is no such thing as an honest politician, now there will be almost nobody who will believe anything any politician says and now for good reason. We have a president widely believed to be treasonous and a congress apparently not willing to remove him or any of his ilk from office. I highly doubt that voter turnout will be above 10% in subsequent elections which means that elections will no longer matter as even the highest offices will be viewed as mere appointees of the oligarchy. The people who didn't vote in the last election will certainly feel vindicated in telling us that their votes didn't count and now it'll be extremely difficult to argue against their reasoning.

It's only insane if you think it's worth surviving an all out nuclear war where the entire face of the earth is toast. But of course those in favor of nuclear war will always tell us that it'll be extremely limited and the other side would never fire back. Nah, they'd never do that now would they?
Problem is too many people read the 'out of the ashes' books and actually believe there's some benevolent wonder hero who will lead us to the magical utopia post nuclear war world..
Personally I don't happen to subscribe to that notion.
One more week to go before America dies and the Peoples Republic of Trumpistan, led by King Donald the Worst, takes its place. Lube up your asses... it'll be slightly less painful when the Republicans start fucking us for four years straight.
Nuclear or biological war isn't sane, no matter what post apocalypse fantasies some people subscribe to. And if it is like any other war, there will be many unexpected turns of events, usually more negative than planned, including vicious vengeance fantasies such as my co-workers used to dream about during the Cold War.
Similarly dreams of American Left or Right dictatorship ... is pretty insane too, even if no one is killed outright. People who talk about mass violence in this way, are cousins to Nazis (including cray Israelis).
Alright. Let us try to unemotionally analyze Trump.
He is more nationalistic and protectionist than the previous several administrations. Note, the word "nationalistic" does not mean "national socialist" or "white nationalist" so drop that before you start.
Although I disagree with protectionism, it is refreshingly honest. I prefer free trade, which is why I oppose TPP and similar managed trade treaties wrongly promoted as if it is free trade. Protectionists also oppose it, albeit for different reasons. But at least I can point to protective tariffs and say "that is not free trade" and not have uninformed morons tell me I'm wrong. I can point to TPP and say "that is not free trade" and be correct, but the uninformed morons will tell me how wrong I am because they've been told that managed trade is free trade.
Oddly enough, many who oppose Trump should be happy he is scrapping TPP which they also oppose, but no good deed goes unpunished.
His 90 day travel ban, on people who are not US citizens coming to the US. Based on a list of countries made by Obama and law signed by Obama. Now again, I disagree with it, but I find it refreshingly honest as well. The hysteria is that he's going to start rounding up US citizens who are Muslims an send them to concentration camps. I believe in letting peaceful people cross borders freely, and that if we weren't bombing the shit out of so many countries we wouldn't have either this refugee problem or this terrorist problem. But his 90 day travel ban isn't nearly as extreme as painted.
His wall with Mexico. Now that's a tough one, there are many problems with it. I like how he has been exploring ideas on how to pay for it, and actually listening to criticism on it. He's walked back his proposal on a high tariff on Mexican imports. I also like how Democrats who oppose it suddenly realized that all taxes are paid by the end consumer and how taxes discourage the activity taxed. I hope they remember that next time they are in power and proposing more taxes on businesses and the rich. They won't. I think the wall is a joke, but then I would invite most of its opponents to examine what are Mexico's immigration and travel laws.
Sometimes, in my off moments when I forget my own principles, I think it would be fair if the US had a travel law for a country that reflected that country's own travel laws. That would be ridiculously complicated, but the howls of anguish from the PC crowd would be beautiful as they oppose it but have a hard time articulating their opposition. "You can't treat Mexico the way Mexico treats others!"
