New, straighter US map:



Pros:
* Clean lines
* Preserves paired states (North Dakota still north of South Dakota, West Virginia still west of Virginia, etc)
* North Carolina displaces Virginia, contains DC (huge win!)
* Tennessee now someone else's problem
* Heavily populated states of Florida, Texas, and California significantly reduced in size
* Maine even Mainer

Cons:
* Rhode Island significantly less islandy
* World lives in fear of rapidly expanding Vermont
* New Jersey somehow still awful

I think many people are so "specialized" in careers, they are almost devoid of other skills. Not too many making our own clothes, soap, growing food, building their own homes, milking the cow or maintaining a water well these days. Hell, many people can't even cook. I normally just teleport to work the instant I roll out of bed.  No shower, no shave - just snap my fingers like a Q and I'm there.  Cause that's how reality works.  A reality where 8 + 8 = 14.
