Dammit, Trump.  I was trying to just chill out a bit and make fun of fundies, but he's just gotta make a fool of himself to stay in the headlines.  *sigh*

This is like some sh*t that some racist dotard would say, not some fit, young...he's how old?  72.  Damn.  Well, that explains that.  I guess he really is a racist old fogey.

Also... no, he fucking well doesn't remember Pearl Harbor.  His birthday is June 14, 1946.  Pearl Harbor was attacked December 7, 1941.  He doesn't remember any part of World War II.

That's like me saying I remember the launch of Sputnik.  Hint: I was born in 1963.

Yeah, Astronaut Shepherd going up on the Redstone, then Astronaut Glenn going up on the Atlas.  Don't remember Grissom though, in between.

QuoteAt Monday’s dinner with the Christian leaders, Trump described the November election in dire terms.

“You’re one election away from losing everything that you’ve got,” he said, according to NBC News.
Yes, that would be very, very unfortunate.  Thoughts and prayers.  Thoughts and prayers.

QuoteTrump also erroneously claimed Monday that he had done away with the Johnson Amendment, which he described to the evangelical leaders as a “disaster for you,” according to the NBC report.

The provision bars religious institutions and other tax-exempt organizations from endorsing political candidates.
Prelude to an attack on secularism?

Y'all love "signing statements" with Obama does them ...

Not sure what if anything Trump's nuance on this law has any practical effect.  But rest assured, the Republicans will be shortly rounding up Gays and Democrats for Final Solution, right?

The SCOTUS already eroded some secularism while Obama was still in office.

The bad guys always have an advantage over the good guys, because they don't mind breaking rules (or laws) in order to win - and the GOP must win at any cost.

Quote"President Trump warned evangelical leaders Monday night that Democrats “will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently” if Republicans lose control of Congress in the midterm elections.

Speaking to the group in the State Dining Room of the White House, Mr. Trump painted a stark picture of what losing the majority would mean for the administration’s conservative agenda, according to an audiotape of his remarks provided to The New York Times by someone who attended the event.

“They will end everything immediately,” Mr. Trump said. “When you look at antifa,” he added, a term that describes militant leftist groups, “and you look at some of these groups, these are violent people.”

A White House spokesman, Hogan Gidley, declined to elaborate on what the president meant."

Ever heard of bibliomancy? That's when you open your Bible at "random" and put your finger on a "random" verse, and that's God speaking directly to you. I've known people who actually do this, and believe it!

Sounds like a Ouiji Board.  I played people with that.  A little peeking and you can get the moving thing anywhere you want.  In fact, with practice, unpeeking memory can get the guide anywhere you want.

I think that politics has replaced religion.

The same animosity and hatred between Democrats and Republicans that was between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland until they come to their senses.
