If I could command spiders to only attack insects and leave humans completely alone, I would surround myself with them.  I'd take them on nature walks and picnics and sporting events and just annihilate local fly/mosquito populations like the scourge of god.  My house would be surrounded by spider webs, leaving alone only an archway for the front door.

I guess an anteater would be handy to have along at picnics.

I've had so much of a wasp problem this Summer. I tried driving them away with mint. I tried trapping them. We had people come and spray outside the house. They kept coming back. I think they only ended up dying eventually because of the draught. Had no rain for like a month.

If I could have made an alliance with the spiders, that they could build wherever they want as long as they don't block the doors, they keep their distance, and they don't bite, I'd have done it in a second. Just kill the wasps. They're dicks. People who try to pretend they only attack in self-defense are in denial. I had one fly at the window of my car trying to get at me, and that was when I escaped out the garage door to avoid them.

Have you ever tried those sticky fly strips? They should work well for other flying bugs. 🪰🦟

If they come back next Summer, I'll try that. But they completely ignored my home made traps. I had a two liter soda bottle, cut off the top, put the top on upside-down, and filled it with sugar water. The sweet smell was supposed to draw them to it, crawling down through the opening. But because of how the opening is positioned, they find it easy to enter and nearly impossible to get out. They just completely ignored it. Never caught a single thing.

What kind of wasps are they? There's a bunch of different kinds. And they all suck.

The one that attacked my window was a yellow jacket, I think. But it was a mix of different kinds. Most I saw were just red wasps of various sizes.
