Dirty secrets of green energy #10 - centuries ago, people did bad stuff and sailboats were often used to facilitate that bad stuff (therefore sailboats were the cause and are bad by association)

The locals were indeed horrified when the Mayflower showed up.

Either one is fine imo, but it seems unwieldy to say "maths classes".

As far as I know, it's used that way in a specific context, not instead of just 'math'.

I think it's simpler than that. Both are just a shortening of the word "mathematics" and for reasons that escape reason, the Brits noticed the word is plural and decided to keep in plural in the shortened version and we decided that "maths" sounded stupid and didn't do that.

The math is off by several orders of magnitude.  I won't bore anyone with the math, so let's just think about this logically.

Let's assume for a second that the Kirksville Aquatic Center contains about half a percent of all the water in the Atlantic Ocean.  And there are thousands of such pools on the surface of the planet.  Does it seem reasonable that human-built pools on the surface of the planet contain many more times the water than the ocean?

I get that Kirksville, Missouri is a long way from the Atlantic, but a quick look around has numbers like 310,410,900 cubic kilometers and that leads to an order of magnitude around 1 x 1020 gallons and growing every day....But when Noah was floating his ark with two kangaroos, 6,000 years ago, obviously all the oceans joined together an all the pools were just part of the ocean. So there.

Oh come on. He only missed the volume of the Atlantic by about 290,000,000,000 X. How close do you expect a guy to be?

I've no idea what that means. We have a new thing defined by another colour?

Go back to the Trophy Knife tweet and you will see she uses the word "violet"  when she, I think meant violent.  Hence my not to good joke about flowers or flower power.  She did that twice.

Refer to the original post. She has such terrible grammar, she uses the word "violet" instead of "violent" multiple times.
