The point of contemporary liberalism ... it is all about me feeling good about myself.  And extension of the usual Western narcissism.  We don't really want to seriously exert ourselves beyond virtue signaling, to help others in need.

An even stranger thing than liberals "supporting" muslims is gay people supporting conservatives who just fought tooth and nail to not let them marry.  Hell, some of them would bring back the kick-down-the-door anti-sodomy laws if they could.

Misses the point don't you think, if people come directly from a country where killing gays is legal, to a country where it's illegal, many of them might think their way of how the law should work might conflict a tiny bit.

Gays supporting conservatives has some mental gymnastics to it, almost as bad as thinking an anti gay society will just blend in with a western society seamlessly :)
