4999 tries to get it right...

Was it 4999 devices or houses?

I know one engineer who has gotten a few electrical surprises over the years. The company made us watch some grisly hi-voltage safety films, but never just after lunch. Unfortunately, one young tech didn't follow the procedure one day. The main breaker went off, but way too slowly for him to survive. OSHA shut us down for a few days. His shoe left a permanent shadow-reminder on the concrete floor till they acid washed it.

I used to tend to 250 KW "Ship's Service Turbo-Generators" (SSTGs). They got great respect from me.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

Not funny but reminds me of Airman Larry. I watched this video once 43 years ago in radar school and still remember the name.

I was working on a design that had -600VDC bias (a few mA) on some pin diode switches. Had my hand between two circuit cards when I hit it. Remember the old cmos logic boards had all those sharp IC legs sticking through the cards? Kinda like a cheese grater. They are what got the back of my hand as I jerked it out of that unit, real fast. Looked worse than it was. We ended up delaying delivery to do a change order to heat shrink and RTV all exposed HV points. We were out of compliance anyways. I am sure some field techs benefitted from my day of fun.
