Amazing/good/okay scifi series that was hugely popular, basically HBO's flagship for a couple years before dropping off.

Famously ended with the plot in a mess but promising one final test/epiphany to set everything straight in the final season, a season that very nearly went into production before the show was abruptly cancelled.

Ah. I don't subscribe to HBO. The wife is a total TV junkie, I'm just a mouse potato, and read a lot.
