Title: Beware the Demon Sweater!
Post by: WitchSabrina on February 27, 2013, 07:30:18 AM

QuoteUsually when one buys clothes second-hand at shops like Goodwill, one just wonders whether it's been laundered properly. But Pat Robertson brought an entirely new worry to the fore on Monday's episode of his "700 Club" program. Responding to an email sent in by a viewer, the elderly televangelist said that, while not all clothes have demonic spirits attached to them, it never hurts to take some precautionary measures.
...

ROFL + WTF = Pat Robinson.............all day long!  Well, at least he's consistently crazy.

What's worse is that people take him VERY seriously.  Just boggles the mind - no?

These kind of people are the same with the majority of people in my country. They still believe in superstition and their religious leaders. So sad, really.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't, although I think some of these crackpot conmen convince themselves of their own bullshit over time.

This, though. Bravo, Pat.  =D>

Years ago when Robertson ran for President, SNL did a satire where he was being interviewed about his qualifications for president.

The interviewer asked, "It's been claimed that you have absolutely no real work experience that you can bring with you to the White House.  Just how do you respond to that charge?"

The comedian (it may have ben Al Franken) responded, "That's simply not true.  I have lots of work experience.  I've mowed people's lawns. I've walked dogs. I baby sit people's houses when they go on vacations."

Why does my brain keep this shit on file?  I have no idea.  It doesn't sound so funny now, but the comic delievery was excellent.  I guess  you had to be there.  I doubt that clip is still available.  I'll check.

I keep expecting Christianity as a whole to realize their own lunacy, idiotic leadership, and fuckups and crimes (not to mention retarded politicians running on a Jesus platform) has done more to promote secularism and increase the number of atheists than any skeptics convention, freethought organization billboard, or anything else we could do ever could.

Ha!  I found the clip:

But sometimes Pat Robertson's real life comments are just as funny.

Quote from: "Nonsensei"Demons possess clothes. I wonder where that is in the Bible.

Well, there's that one story of Jesus sending some demons into a herd of pigs, which then stampeded over a cliff to their deaths. If they can go into a pig, why not an inanimate object? Granted, it's not a very efficient mode of transportation. I mean, the demon would have to pick an article of clothing, then wait for someone to buy it, then somehow stay inside it through multiple washings. I should think they would go flying out of the sweater during the spin cycle.

Also, there are the stories of Paul blessing some article of clothing and passing it around, and people would be healed from touching it. AND let's not forget about Ouija boards! Everyone knows they always have demons in them!

Quote from: "WitchSabrina"LMAO
Look what I found:

//http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/funnyquotes/a/patrobertson.htm

Quote"... It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history. ..."

Quote"...But a condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs; it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor. ..."
For gay days.

QuoteIt is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."
Feminist agenda

I get it all has some meaning to him, but kill their children? What for?

Quote"Maybe we need a very small nuke thrown off on Foggy Bottom to shake things up" –Pat Robertson, on nuking the State Department

Quote"It may be a blessing in disguise. ... Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it. Haitians were originally under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon the third, or whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, we will serve you if you will get us free from the French. True story. And so, the devil said, okay it's a deal. Ever since they have been cursed by one thing after the other." –Pat Robertson, on the earthquake in Haiti that destroyed the capital and killed tens of thousands of people, Jan. 13, 2010

Just Wow.   Sounds like a POE, it is that good.

...  *sigh* ...  yeah..............

Pat, don't you ever change. He's so easy to parody. All you have to do is take his quotes and read them verbatim. even Shara Palin isn't as big of a comedic goldmine. :rollin:

Listen to the examples gleaned from open mikes, one will see he does.

The consummate con-man, that I will give him. Like Popov, they are both great at theatrics, but short on facts and reality.

They have both been exposed numerous times as charlatans, yet they prey on those weak in their faith, and the weak minded as well. These con men merely state what those people want, or need to ear.

Mmmmmmm weapons grade crazy right there.

Reminds me of a book I found in my workspace onboard my ship when I was in the Navy.  One of the ETs left it in our shack (he was a preacher as well) and I gave it the once over.  It was written by a couple who went from house to house at the request of fellow Christians who wanted to make sure the property they were thinking about buying was 'demon free'.
