Jeez, another Jackie Chan! This time a sci-fi, in which he gets to climb around and fight on top of the Sidney Opera House! What a ride! 🎡🎢
It was called Special Agent, and it was even more fun than the last one was! 🦘

John Wick 4. Fun watch, especially we know JW5 is possible. I noted that several characters used the "protecting my face" move with the garment of their choice. Kimono used that way by one of the traditionally dressed bad guys in the kitchen fight.

I saw JW1, but that's the only one so far. I'd definitely be into watching more of them.

Me and Boss Lady have the current four on disk. This after I said "let's wait for the boxed set." I was just out of the hospital and she had a week off work, so bleep it, Amazon delivers.

Very informative. To summarize this nearly hour long video, writers and actors want to make art. Executives don't give a fuck about art. They want money now. They see movies as products to be sold, and they'd rather sell sequels than takes risks on something new. Executives want to make writers and actors obsolete, replacing them with AI. Effects studios bid for projects, meaning that the studios that promise to do the job the cheapest get the jobs. Executives think we're all idiots who will go to see movies just because they're from a series that we recognize, like Star Wars, and that we won't notice if the quality of the movies drop significantly.

Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."

I seldom go to a movie theater to see a movie. I do watch quite a few on YouTube, though. Right now I'm watching one called High Spirits (no, it's not about Cheech and Chong in the afterlife 🤪), very appropriate for the season.

Peter O'Toole is about to lose his Irish castle if he doesn't come up with a bunch of money, so he decides to claim that it's haunted. Trouble is, there are no ghosts. He and his staff set it up to pretend there are, though, and try to fool a group of tourists into believing it. But they're not buying it and try to leave, but are kept from doing so by some real ghosts who show up.

What a romp!.🤣

I haven't finished it yet, so I don't yet know what happens. I'll let you know later.

Well, I finished it, and you'll be glad to know that they all lived (or not) happily ever after! 👻

Jeez Jackie Chan made a bunch of movies! I just finished another one, this one was called Mr. Nice Guy, and of course it was action packed and great fun to watch. He wasn't very nice, either, at least to the bad guys. I loved watching him fight with construction tools and equipment! At the end he completely demolished the bad guy's mansion with a dirt hauler! 🤪

In this time of deadly wars the culture wars are still raging, and Disney has become a key target. Rumblings about cast changes to the new Disney "Snow White" production. Fans reacting negatively to Rachel Ziegler's attitude and modern take on the classic story, and some say the 'Dwarfs' look more like seven baristas. Seems they are reshooting with a different actress. Now I have to go see it.

Being the somewhat "detached" weirdo that I am, typically focusing more on the sets and costumes and aura of a film, it may take me multiple viewings to get the detailed storyline, but that means I can enjoy films over and over, LOL. Not sure I would have been captivated by these costumes. Looks like the 60-70s hand-me downs I got from my cousins in the 80s. I do like low-riding bell-bottoms cuz they work on a thin frame.

I just finished watching Kung Fury for about the 666th time. It never grows old! I hope they make a sequel soon, there have been rumors that they might. 😎

I just finished watching an old movie with one of my all-time favorites - Burt Lancaster. The movie is Mr. 880, about a Secret Service agent (Burt Lancaster) who's looking for a counterfeiter. The "bad guy" turned out to be a sweet old man that Burt didn't want to bust, but of course he had to do it anyway.
Pretty good movie, made way back (1950) when movies were about good stories instead of flashy special effects.

I thought I'd seen Hudson Hawk, but I guess I was mistaken. It was a lot of fun, with Bruce Willis, James Coburn and Danny Aiello. Oh, and the lady from Groundhog Day, Andie MacDowell.
