I wonder about this report.  When my son was younger, I tried porn blocking software.  He had to do a report, and tried looking up information on the "Venus Flytrap."  Turned out everything with "Venus" or "Flytrap" was blocked.  So, he came up with another idea for a report.  Same thing happened.  Finally, I just logged in and let him go.

The point being, maybe many of those attempts at getting to porn were actually just attempts at getting to legitimate information, but the key words were considered pornography.  Think about it, words like "women, men, Dick, gape, breast, milk, etc.etc." can all be classed as keywords for porn.

I don't know that to be the case here, but I do know some people have strange ideas about what is pornographic.  Like the Texas Committee to Put Pants on Dogs, people.

Somehow porn and British parliament just don't seem right, but seeing how raucous they sometimes get it seems perfectly normal. That's the beauty of the US constitution and that whole freedom of expression thing, but sadly even our lawmakers would like to ban porn, but the high court says fuck you prudish congressman and woman.. It's protected speech...not that 'cum on my face' isn't exactly what the founders had in mind..they most likely didn't realize unemployed film makers would branch out and become so expressive. :)
All that aside, I could care less if they're browsing porn on the job as long as they don't try to outlaw it for everyone else. It's our elected representatives. Hopefully they're actually getting insight into how your average male in society thinks.. To bad most women aren't on that same page, but....
All hail my new signature!

Admit it. You're secretly green with envy.

This from the bastards that are trying to block our porn! :x

I just went to check on this and holy crap this is Big Brother style creepy:

In addition, the new settings will censor websites that mention alcohol or smoking. The filter will even block "web forums" and "esoteric material," though Open Rights Group does not specify what these categories would include.
Seriously?  They're going to set default filters to censor websites that mention alcohol, smoking, web forums, and WTF is "esoteric material" if not a mealy-mouthed term for anything Big Brother doesn't like?  These "default filters" give the UK government way too much power.

You're telling us!

There is an overwhelming sense here that Cameron is effectively pandering To the emotional daily mail readers that regard 'porn' as something that is destroying society.

Porn is the tip of the iceberg. They are creating themselves an effective means of censorship under the guise of protecting children from pornography, which is the responsibility of the parent, we all know there will be easy ways round it and web filters ALREADY EXIST for parents who want to shield their children from such things.

The general public are lapping it up though, because actually taking responsibility for raising their own children properly and not handing it off to the nanny state sounds far too much like hard work. Why carefully monitor your own children to ensure their wellbeing when you can sit on your ass and let the government do it and then blame them for everything that goes wrong with your shitty little vagina spawn.
