The UN, with all its non-might criticized the "holy sea" for putting itself above children by hiding pedophile priests. Like nobody suspected it from the get-go.

The stupid is that they can solve the problem simply by doing the right thing- whenever a priest is charged, turn it immediately over to civil authorities. Their actions have always been to bury the problem, which worked when there was no open media and internet resources like today. You can only shove shit under the rug for so long, until somebody notices.

Hate to get technical here, but man for man the Vatican probably has the best army on the planet in the Swiss Guard. These are some badass, highly trained dudes. Plus they know every inch of the territory and loss of life ratios would be highly in their favor. I don't think anybody wants to lose a couple of thousand men over a few square miles of turf, under any circumstances.

Best thing to do is expose them and keep exposing them until their minions finally get it.

I was pleased to see this news item placed high on the national news this evening nevertheless.
