Back from the dead. 8 days in the hospital is soooo much fun. Suffered a bought of colitis, which lead to anemia which lead to a heart attack. It's good when things mesh together so well. But sprung from the hospital a couple of hours ago and am now 10/12 lbs lighter. And there really is no place like home!!!

Much fun, eh? Last August 1st I had a cardiac artery bypass graft. One of my arteries was stuck between two larger tubes and was in danger of being occluded completely. Spent six days in a induced coma after that one. Glad I missed the part where they cut my sternum in half.

I would not have been surprised if that had happened to me last week--chest cracked open.  I have 5/6 arterial stents already and when informed I had had a heart attack (with no pain) one of the very possible options was just that--chest split open.  Prior to the hospital vacation, I had had a colitis attack--constant pain of 8-10 for days; produced anemia and my heart took offense.  Apparently I had picked up a chicken based infection somewhere along the way.  Anyway, it is sorted out now and I'm in the process of resetting how I eat and exercise.

I've just seen the thread, Mike. Happy to hear you're well. Take care. *Hugs.

Am feeling pretty good.  I am still puzzled by a no pain heart attack; have to wait to see my cardiologist, tho.  My discharge instructions indicated I needed to make an appointment with the cardiologist who did my angiogram (all I know of the results of that test was that it was diagnostic--whatever the fuck that means) within 2 weeks.  Called the office and was told to see my regular dr. for a referral--after I told them I was medicare.  So, I had to make an appointment with my regular dr. (was going to anyway) to get that referral and to ask him a boatload of questions.  I see him in 3 days.  The American medical system is really grand!!

Good to hear you're alive and kicking Mike..I nearly kicked my own large sized hand held container as well back in February.. Nasty artery decided to explode when they were inserting a heart cath in me. I had internal bleeding that filled up my abdominal cavity full of blood. I was in a coma for a few days.. When I came to I thought they had been trying to torture me. I told my wife: These f*ckers are MONSTERS!  LOL Truth is they saved my life..

Anyway..I have a new username..My old one was Allpurposeatheist.. I had "forgotten" it, but I kind of like the new name..

Mr.Obvious
