It's sad that anytime I see a painting like this now, I have to count the fingers to see if it's AI generated. Also, WTF is that outside the window? Is that a dinosaur's head?

Born under one law, to another bound;
Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."

That maybe Mammon or one of its cousins. Religious iconography does that at times.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

I think they're cooking some dinosaur... 😃

E: By the way, there are tons of real paintings of that sort... Literally tens of thousands. I don't think they need AI...lol.

That's Saint George. The beast is the dragon he killed.

Having said that, WTF is she holdng for him to wash his hands in?

It appears to be a variation on the swan knight helmet.

She must be one of those red-headed Lebanese gals; so thankful that the dragon won't be eating the locals for dinner any longer.

Fun (to some maybe) fact. This particular Saint George painting was completed in 1862. The look of the artist's dragon was probably heavily influanced by contemporary thoughts on the looks of dianosaurs. The Crystal Palace displays had been completed less than 10 years before the painting. It wouldn't surprise me if Rossetti had seen the Crystal Palace displays.

The recent list of sainthood beatification miracle claims is pedestrian compared to the saints of old. Now it's just one mystery medical cure after another. Never a regrown amputated leg however, let alone a dragon slaying.

Dragon slaying would get PETA way up your ass these days.

Only if they had contracts to kill the dragons themselves.

Yeah, definitely don't drop off any dragons at PETA shelters.
