When they were planning the Trinity test it was proposed to enclose the bomb in 100 tons of steel in case there was a fizzle, in order to contain the fissile material. It was then proposed that they think about 100 tons of radioactive steel flying around the southwest.

Well, yeah...

But the whole point of movies is to reduce complex and multifaceted developments into simplistic narratives readily understood by the common man, like some genius having breakthrough in the shower, single-handedly changing the entire course of human history.

Not even I know if I'm being sarcastic with that sentence or not.  I think maybe the sarcasm looped back around to candor at some point.

I mean, there's a lot to cover.  Cinematography, sound design, animation/vfx, acting, directing, editing, writing, etc.  Any of those things is a huge endeavor all by itself.
